Most of the concerns about bad code would be caught by any decent antivirus and antispyware program. While it is true that you should be wary of programs written by someone else, I also agree that this is highly unlikely from a mod that requires thi…

This happened to me once as well. I actually thought that I must have accidentally dropped it somewhere until I saw this bug report. If others are having this happen then it must have just disappeared on me.

I agree that this is a symptom of the entire base resetting itself. The problem is that it resets to a state other then the one I put it in. With the moonpool, even though it goes through the animation it ends in the same state you left it in. It do…

So more than a year and this still happens. This basically makes bulkhead doors completely useless. Is there any intent to look into fixing this?

Forgive me for not going into all the myriad of details about this. There's far more to this issue than is easily explained in any simple post or in very helpful wiki articles. Yes, any reaction is going to let off EM "radiation", … -
@SAPH3RE There is no confirmation from the devs that multiplayer will ever be in the game. Even if they do do it, it's going to be a long wait. There's no reason to beat d…

As with most problems, it is not nearly this simple. Let's stay away from insulting everyone generally that disagrees with us and stick to the thread's topic. -

That's actually not true. Fission reactions let off a ton of harmful radiation, but fusion reactions let off none at all, despite letting off many orders of magnitude more energy. Harmful radiation from reactions is usually because… -

The thread isn't about how easy it is to destroy the Cyclops. The OP's post literally says that they want the Cyclops to be invincible. -

You keep assuming (here and in several other of your posts) that people want it to be invincible to smaller creatures. That's not what they said at all. We just think that the damage they're currently able to do to it both doesn't … -

That would make sense, if the batteries were what was taking damage and the fires only occurred around the batteries. That's clearly not what's happening here. Also, well built batteries shouldn't normally catch fire under any cond… -
@scifiwriterguy a very good read. I just want to add that while it is better to avoid rendering things the player can't actually see, it is not a zero sum game. The…

@0x6A7232 please send it to me! I'd love to play around with this!

@Tarkannen I'm a software engineer that dables in building games, and I agree with pretty much everything you said.
Pre-built engines like Unity are awesome … -

No, they are not pointless. FTL only allows you to travel over extremely long distances between stars. Once you get close to the planet you want to land on you'll have to deal with conventional orbital maneuvers at sublight speeds.… -
While it could be cool, from a functional and gameplay standpoint I don't see any need for more. I'd rather have some work put into improving the ones we have (cyclops dock please).

Considering how simple the base building is, I find the similarities more a result of it being obvious than someone intentionally copying someone else's design. -

Neither does anyone else since there are no weapons anywhere in this game. Other than the knife, of course.
I want to try the torps sometime, but they do feel pretty useless. If the vortex ones could at least stop a rea… -
Nah, there's nothing there so my curiosity is over in about 10 seconds. There still needs to be something to explore.

Kerbal Space Program is actually a great example of why Unity is a terrible choice for any 3d game that wants to do more than basic FPS style stuff. Even smaller rockets or stations will start lagging its physics engine to death.I've wanted this forever. It was going to be in an earlier update but then got pushed off to "someday". Really hope they get it in.First, it's a game. Don't expect perfect science .
Beyond that though, just because lithium is used in batteries doesn'…(Quote)
Most of the bugs you mention have been happening to me for a while now on the stable version. At least the PDA issues and the wrecks not being there are both on my current game. While I highly recommend trying @0x6A7232 's steps as this is absolutely a great game, I hate to think that someone feels stuck and cheated on it.
3 hours doe…@Rezca Thanks for the tip! I've actually been there once already, but I'll go check again.I think the fragments have just been spread out a lot more. Lots of them now seem to be outside of wrecks. I've found quite a few in some of the debris piles, for instance. I also had to search FOREVER to find the water filtration this time. Finally…An interesting idea, but my guess is that this has almost zero chance of speeding anything up.
The main problem trying to decompress the stream of data isn't actually the processor. It's all the memory allocations. What little compressio…I've been seeing this bug as well for a long time now. I don't think I've run into a case where I can't open it at all, but every time I change anything on my base all the bulkheads close.
in Stuck Bulkheads Comment by cdaragorn September 2016I have the exact same problem. Tried verifying game cache and even tried spawning one into a fresh new game.
This is happening on the latest experimental build (36878). I tried going back to stable PRAWN update and was able to spawn one …(Quote)
The First Law of Thermodynamics: The Law of Conservation of Matter and Energy.
That said, conversion of energy is NEVER a loss equation. That would violate that law in We're going to be getting our resources' worth out of the Battery Charger... Comment by cdaragorn June 2016
