This was how the previous stable release was too, just fragments were significantly more common otuside of Wrecks in that update, too.

Please google "Software Bloat" and "Feature Creep".

^ That. Knifes have a durability, they'll break after you use the durability up.

(Quote) Trello has models for slashed Lifepod flotation rings. They're probably replacing all destryoed pods rings with those.

Upgrading a PC is about as expensive as a new console purchase every 3-4 years unless you're one of those people who "HAS" to have the best hardware on the market every year. -

It's only in the experimental version for the next update. It's not on a Stable release yet. -

I agree that there's a tad too many hostiles near some of the wrecks, but giving the Stasis rifle to the player in earlygame removes virtually all challenge from hostiles in the game. Giving player the counter to Reaper Leviathans… -
Hoping the shallow water gets changed, it seemed kindof annoying to deal with for the guy in the video. Besides that, it looked awesome.
EDIT: Also, has anyone tried using a propulsion/repulsion cannon on the debris and such in the wa… -
(Quote) I thought that too initially, but the Mountain island has a similar color to the Mushroom forest, which the Reaper does hang around.

Looks like a relatively early game design document. It's really fun to read those as you can get to see what some of the early visions for a game are and how those ideas have evolved to eventually reach the point that we are at now.

Terrain modification also causes massive bloat to the savegame size. Thus longer loading times, as well as if it gets too large it won't be accepted into the Steam Cloud, or on the Xbox Cloud.

If you're a programmer you'd know that arbitrarily adding a toggle to a system that is used throughout much of the game world, most of the way through the development cycle, will likely break several things and require severa… -

He might mean texture budget in the video memory useage rather than texture budget in monetary cost, at least the "crashing" remark might imply that. -

One of the devs said Mushroom Cave was the place they used in testing, and that the other beds should work to but might not, and as such suggested going to the shroom cave and scanning in there, and reporting the wrecks that do not… -

There is simulation of the bends - it just requires a console command. It's also, expectedly, not a finished feature. No one knows for certain, besides the devs of course, whether this is just an experiment or if this will be add… -

Those aren't "his" reasons. Those are the devs reasons.
The developer's reasons were as follows: (paraphrased)
1. Being able to bypass caves and other hand crafted terrain.
2. Performance slowdowns after … -

Professional grade modelling and programming is expensive, especially when the work is split work up among multiple people to reduce general production times.

While your suggestions are nice, they do not solve the fundamental problem with the transformer in that it modifies the terrain. Modifying the terrain causes the world's size to bloat, causing performance problems, ludicrously large save files (Som…

Options are the bane of game development, as if you "add an option for it" on everything, you end up making the same game twice, if not more, over. -
It's entirely possible that some of these models (including the terraformer model) was made before the decision was made, or it's entirely possible that they wish to use the Terraformer model for something else in the future.

(Quote) Look at the character models. You're not some super-buff badass Space Marine like in DooM, you're a pretty slim person, presumably a noncombatant of some sort, in Subnautica.

Sounds like they are Rock Punchers, with genetic and cybernetic implants so Torgaljin can control them.

Make an underwater base, build an aquarium or, even better, an Aqua Park. Put two fish in there.
Tada, no more hunger problems. Bonus points for using Airsacks, as that solves your water problem too. -

You should make a second poll without multiplayer, since in the time since this poll was created UWE has stated that Multiplayer is not a priority and it would provide a better idea of what the community wants within the realms of things that UWE ha…

There is a hidden pressurization functionality in the game that you can access via typing in "nitrogen" (without quotes) in the console. It does hardly any damage right now, but the effect is in the game.

In the experimental build most of the fragments are now inside of the wrecks, it's real easy now to get the fragments you need if you know where the wrecks are.
