I'm not really sure what you are trying to argue either, btw.
But I think there would be more servers with interesting gameplay mods if there was a demand for it. As it is, most heavily modded servers spend nearly all their time empty. … -
There are a lot more than 4 modded / yellow servers. Clear your filters, man!
There are dozens of servers running different game modes (mostly combat, and mostly empty), and the majority of the other modded servers are jus… -
I would be tempted to try splitting the floor of the vent into 3 pieces. Two thin strips on the edges and one big piece between them. Then make the edges CommanderNoBuild and make the big center piece CommanderInvisible. That way the comm can see…

I quickly learned to keep my maps as clean as possible due to how painful it can be when you have extra unused vertices (or worse, duplicate edges / faces in exactly the same place). I can't tell you how many times I've drawn a line across a…

I'd say its not as addictive as Minecraft, but definitely addictive. I only started mapping a couple months ago and look at my working directory! (not all of those maps are finished/published!)

I've had all kinds of trouble with punkbuster too. Particularly trying to play Crysis Multiplayer back when it was new. Kicked me from games at random times for no apparent reason. I haven't played a punkbuster game online since them.

Also, I think the chair / hive should require voice activation. <… -
you need to rewrite that to look like this:

I like the looks of your map. Particularly the use of color that people keep criticizing. There isn't enough bright, vibrant color in typical NS2 maps. Too much industrial gray, and most of the custom maps try to emulate that! Be different!Nice.
I think it would be fun to try to make a map out of all the official readyrooms cobbled together. This is kind of similar

Heck yes. I'm going to optimize the line that defines the onos cost a little.@JimWest
I looked at docking at the landing pad door and I don't see anything particularly special about the occlusion geometry there. I've tried wrapping the…I don't really have a problem with that vent, and I'd be sad to see it go. If people think it is too powerful, perhaps the mezzanine end should be moved to the opposite wall (so the vent exit is on the south half somewhere instead of the north wall…Speaking of layers is it possible to move layers up and down in the layer list?(Quote) I could certainly do that.
What would be really great is being able to trigger sounds and cinematics to go along with such things. And a button entity that could be disabled and enabled by other logic entities would be great …Apparently it was my fault that my train wasn't pushing players. I had changed the model and lowered the gray entity box scale down to 1:1:1 which meant the actual hit box was just a small cube in the corner of the prop I was using. Only one very simple room. I tried to use a train entity to push marines off t…NS2 is so limited in the entity department that a traditional deathrun map is difficult if not impossible right now. Deathrun relies on all sorts of animated objects with physics-based interaction. For example, a death-player hits a button and the…Game #2 starting now!
I'd have to really figure out how to do lua coding and cinematics if I wanted to create a real deathrun map

Some ideas:
1. Enable it briefly for all marines when any marine is hit or killed by the fade. Should happen often enough and won't give away the location.
2. Not sure if this is possible, but make the intensity…Seriously though, just a slow grayscale flow animation across the line would be fantastic. Other points of interest are in color so it would not be a distraction (radar dots, enemy players, friendly players, structures of any kind). Then it would do him a great service and help him learn how to read, of course!Ooh, I like it! But this raises a lot of questions for mappers
Do the reflections appear in the map editor or do we hav…Indeed.
Regardless, I still have to consider this a bug that the hives don't actually occupy the tech points. The same thing seems to apply to resource nodes and extractors/harvesters, btw.(Quote)
Once, yes, but I don't know how that turned out because I got the kicked for someone's reserved slot moments later.

So they can be rebuilt of course

I will try this, thanks.Need wiki now, not later!
I opened up my hivesiege map again and found that once again I can't keep ARCs and MACs from driving through closed doors! I've tried putting occlusion geometry above, below, all around, and even in the middle of a door. No effect. I've tried mak…
