Well even after all the polishing they have done there is a lot of stuff they can do and I think a different helmet for each suit (except the reinforced dive suit because the rebreather fits well with it) would be pretty cool thing to have

I think its best for the devs to finish 1.0 then work on an expansion later and one more thing
They already confirmed that they'll work on an expansion (check subnautica roadmap trello page)
