subnautica is a game that really would thrive with mods. I'm not sure of their exact plans but I think until they get 1.0 released they're not going super deep into it, if at all. Somebody more informed could probably tell you something more accurat…

I'm going to agree with Sam in saying that the cyclops probably shouldn't get a drill arm. Something about it just doesn't fit thematically if that makes any sense. And I don't like the idea of us having to leave the cyclops even less when we go out…

These ideas stuck out to me for one reason or another. I'll address them individually.
I'm not entirely opposed to having silent running as it is now - a temporary "buff" - but I also miss the old system. It was realist… -
Something else to be noted for Cyclops:
You CAN use Ion power cells once you unlock that blueprint. People seem to forget this. They hold 5x as much power as regular power cells (Regular => 200 each, Ion =>1000 each)
The Cycl… -
And Thinking about it more, I realize that subnautica isn't meant to be a true "survival" game like don't starve, or 7 Days to die, or Osiris, ect. But I don't want it to be that either. At the end of the day I just want to be able to do something m…

Well, when we think about what you actually need to do to finish the game currently, it comes down to crafting the endgame item, and getting to the final area to use it. There are ways the game directs you, but ultimately you have to do very few of …

I don't think a new player would beat it 4 hours in. They'd have to be pretty fearless and confident in what and how to do things. But people who have played through the game a multitude of times will be able to rush through to tho… -
This is going to sound really weird, but a well-timed (and more importantly unexpected) groan from a reefback has never failed to freak me out. Maybe more than any of the enemies. Something about those things just weirds me out. Their tenctacles, th…

1: Warpers
Honestly? I just stay as far away from them as I can. I don't mess with those guys. Take a wide turn around them and you'll usually be okay. Even if they do warp you outside of your vehicle, I usually carry my seaglide everywh… -
Opening up a few more cans of worms..
Can my base not break instantly when I accidentally hit it with my knife? It's just dumb and unrealistic that a single slash would do the damage that it does.

I mean... I don't know. I don't feel like they're really taking into account the rate of day and night when considering speed setting for cyclops, and what would be realistically achievable in the games day. More likely than not i… -

Yeah I realize It's faster. It's also pretty useless, like Zeta said. And how realistic is it that you could use a speed setting for *less than a minute* before your engine catches fire? It's not realistic, and it doesn't make sen… -

Maybe the more fundamental issue isn't with the cyclops itself, but the fact that the map is, at the end of the day, fairly small. The cyclops w… -
@gunmetal563
Yeah That's probably true, didn't think of that. But I'll put it this way. I went through the entire Inactive and active lava zone without the… -

I've heard this thrown around a bit, and I would really hate that. To me subnautica at its core is more about exploring, discovery and creat… -
@DrownedOut
Yeah I guess that's fair. I can definitely see using it to transport stuff for new bases ad mobile spawn point. I guess I just really like the i… -
It felt alright when it was invulnerable, but thinking back, that was probably the only reason I used it. So I'd have a quick place to retreat my seamoth into if I happened to run into any unexpected trouble. But knowing more about the game now, avo…

I don't really see the use in the cyclops at this point. It's big, it's slow, and it still feels vulnerable. If I tried to run it at max speed, in less than 30 seconds the engine would overheat. in another 15 it would catch fire. (without silent run…
