Everything about gorge tunnels is speculation until we actually see what the content patch provides.
I will note, however, that your expectation is still unfair with and (I feel) without the powernode bug in play. The i… -

Well, I always believe being respectful and nice to other players is important. Your experience there isn't because people think aliens "are OMGzor aliens OP", it's because that person was really rude and raging most likely against… -

Well truth be told, the spit complaints are a different issue. When they were arguing gorges were support classes, it was because spit was able to kill a marine 1 on 1 with ease (let's NOT ARGUE about this in the bilebomb thread) a… -

The image of "Don't move, I'm going to set you on fire to remove the acid" is rather amusing. Reminds me of TF2 logic.

Well the problem of the commander jumping out when he sees 2 dots in base is that the 2nd dot might be a fade or Onos. I believe you can't tell what the enemy is until an actual marine has LOS to one. (Minor nitpick but having an a… -

The difference is no one is killing hives with flamethrowers once every 3 games by themselves. I dunno, maybe it's because all the marines are idiots and haven't realized just how quickly and easy it is to kill a hive with a flamet… -

If the flamer cost 10 res, could kill the hive at almost LOS range in less than 20 seconds and depower all alien upgrades. Yes, I'd agree. Although in that case, I believe that's an issue with the Infestation node system and the bu… -
17 seconds for one gorge. ~10seconds for two gorges. Remember those numbers, because if you don't check your minimap every 17 or 10 seconds you deserve to lose the game. Period. No alert either since the NS2 alert system is bugged. Fighting an Onos?…

The reason it works in Arma is because combat in that game tries to be realistic. Let's be frank, marines would lose ALL games if we went that route. Stamina gauge for all forms of movement, going prone, gun jams, locational damage, massive recoil..…

But you can. You can see everything your opponent is doing in chess and see all potential moves (or if you're a master, several moves ahead in the future). However, when I was talking about chess I was refering to the fact Chess is… -

NS2 wishes it could be chess. 50/50 balance. Always an ability for comebacks. Victory completely based upon skill. Personally, the sheer amount of LOS blockers/obscurers is annoying. Then again, one of the mods did say Flayra wante… -
Really? Seems about the same speed as a marine's walking speed rather than the exo's slower "plodding" rate. Could be wrong however. Haven't gotten the chance to get into exos in my recent games.
in Why are aliens getting an early (?) game tunneling mechanic, and marines get new exos? Comment by Vigilantia February 2013 -
That obviously isn't the final build but instead a user mod (notice the marine walking speed). Odds are the numbers are going to change so that the Rail Exo is as useless/useful as the normal Exo. Besides, did you SEE that walking speed? Talk about …

Your point would be valid if it took 20 seconds from entering the hive to setting up the phase gate and having the entire marine team come in.
It takes time to set up the Power Node. It takes time to build that phase ga… -

You missed "marine waiting in base 24/7." If not a marine waiting in base, then at least 2 Obs as 1 Obs doesn't cover all potential entrances AND give enough warning for a marine to phase back.

Wait, seriously?! I didn't know that. I've always played skulks as if they were defined by physics. No wonder some skulks seem impossible to hit when they jump. -

Absolutely not. One Drone gathers the exact same time as one SCV. The difference is that Z/T/P have different economic models. Zerg can have more bases but building units cuts into their "eggs" meaning they build less drones.… -

That is quite a dangerous perspective to have as a marine. By simply having marines in base is a loss to marines. For every second your marines are in the same room as your base, the marines are losing. If the commander has to beac… -

Well, the problem is that how we feel about fades is REALLY anecdotal. I personally find they're the same as a shotgun: They're a waste of res for noobs but if someone knows how to play them then marines are basically GG without an… -

How bad IS hitreg right now? I often encounter similar issues where my dot cursor is over their model by about (in game) 1-3 inches but i don't hit them at all. However, I always assumed that was because I was bad/skulks were bette… -

Personally, I believe the commander UI is robust enough to know the difference between a power node in ore processing and a power node in your main/secondary base in warehouse/repair. As the power node is THE important structure in… -
