Don't worry about it. If you just play and do your best, your hive rating will hover at your correct skill level with small deviations. Individual games upset it only temporarily, so you should not care about losing points every now and then.

The alien commander and the entire alien infrastructure in NS2 is much more complicated than that created by gorges in NS1.

Much better.

Yes, NovoRei, anecdotes. Anecdotes by people who feel unfairly represented by their rating (even if it would be accurate) and have already biased themselves against the system, causing them to overlook the system when it works and concentrate on ind…

You're basing your arguments on personal anecdotes. They hold no weight. I can argue that milk is poisonous because once I drank some and the next day I felt ill. Does not make it true.

You are correct. Teams should have an even distribution of skill numbers to make for the most meaningful game. This is widely agreed upon and discussed in… -
People are unable to understand that you can conjure up the most wild scenarios and experience the most vivid anecdotes which would seem to work against the foundations of the skill system, but this has nothing to do with the big picture. In any sta…

Both of these studies use other measures than IQ to measure intelligence. You said exactly that IQ has dropped, which during the time of standardised IQ tests has demonstrably increased. -

It's mostly because the people complaining about the current system fail to come up with actual reasons why it's broken, rather relying on knee-jerk reactions and gut feelings. Blind here is a prime example, where do those 90% and 30% numbers come f…

So chess isn't a PvP game until you actually capture an opponent's piece? RTS games like SC2 are not PvP until a unit dies and it reverts back to PvE when armies disengage?

That would no longer be a an Elo rating system, but a glorified e-peen inflator that encourages farming arbitrary numbers. A rating based on victories and defeats already captures everything in your skillset that determines winning… -

I love how most of the vocal adversaries of the skill system have absolutely nothing to back their claims with apart from slurs. Can't like what you don't understand, eh?
