I agree with Seldkam
The tool isn't fit for catch very big creature, but can be of some help to catch small, average size species like the stalker or even the bone shark. And my idea of a net with bolders (or a bola) add this possibility… -

This solution is good for a low technology level for the base blueprint. An higher level could be the crane that lift the Cyclop, and then the seamoth can be used too. Erh.. sorry if I make myself not very clear.

Yes I think the same. The day/night should be revisit to be longer, because for now our guy eat once a day and once a night, but seem very fast in timeline. Two lunch a day and one at night seems more realistic.

I think we coould see the seabase as a permanent base, where we can install heavy workstation or laboratories, farm, etc. Cyclops is (or another submarine of it's size) is more a small mouving camp that allow us to gather ressources.
