Outline is perfect. Never use alien vision unless it's pitch black.

That was only one of many game-breaking bugs. Toggling your flashlight on and off would make you build faster. You could restock grenades directly into your clip from an armory if your inventory was full; obviating the need to relo… -
Gamification sucks on every conceivable level. It's shallow representation of a game; taking superficial game features and mistaking them for the actual game mechanics, like scores, points, stats, experience bars and achievements; completely ignorin…

Going by your join date you joined when NS 2.0 had been released.
NS 1.0x played very, very differently from NS 2.0 and onwards. It wasn't better, but it was so different you could almost say the original NS died…(Quote)
Through the magic of the way back machine you can find out from the original manual/fronteirsmen new recruit primer thing: in 11 years passed... seriously!? Comment by Soylent_green February 2014I can still have fun while losing, and annoying the "OMG! concede!!!!!!111" people by completely ignoring them has its charms as well. Remove concede, remove the ridiculous autobalance and just let them F4 if they're so set on ending the round.Yay, skinner boxes.Eclipse is not fine. Too many crates I can live with; but the map's aesthetic is nothing like Eclipse, and that's not OK.
What defines the look of eclipse, and what is the aesthetic you just have to capture in order to make someth…NS2 has improved hugely from the terrible lows of the Gorgeus patch, but is still nowhere near NS.
NS was a quite simple game with a lot of depth; if you removed almost anything from NS, it would have suffered (except greanades, maybe). …Make switching from the axe to anything else much faster than a normal weapon switch.
You're already punished for standing with your face burried in an extractor, hacking away; don't need to be doubly punish with ~1 second weapon switch.NS2 does not support mods. Although it is possible to make them, they must continually mutate faster than a flu virus in order to maintain compatibility with their NS2 host.
Ain't nobody got time for that."Backstab" mechanics are fundamentally flawed.
They don't even work in TF2, and that's a slow-assed game with excellent source engine net code.(Quote)
It is. But RAM capable of storing data indefinetly(e.g. MRAM) still shouldn't be thought of as storage, nor should an SSD. It's not a replacement for the hard drive.
You bring the stuff you use often from the HDD to the…(Quote)
A problem with RAM is it's limited size. RAM per GB is a lot more expensive than a normal SSD.
Makes about as much sense. SSDs are mid-way between RAM And HDDs; the only reason you think of them as storage i…(Quote)
They don't belong on the same level in the cache hierarchy. They are not the same kind of object, any more than RAM prices should be compared to harddrive prices, or the price of L3 cache compared to RAM.
L1(~4 clocks) …A hard drive is a mechanical thing and NS2, unlike most games, doesn't batch any of its files into a virtual file system or .wad or anything like that. It reads lots of little tiny textures, material files and props one by one from the drive.

No, it's not sarcasm. I don't think it's a good idea, but that's what a casual mode means, making sure that skill doesn't pay.(Quote)
Oh that's piss-easy. All you have to do is reward skill less, e.g.:
Buff the LMG and increase the cone of fire so that there is little or no reward for aiming well.
Prevent marines from jumping in combat so they c…(Quote)
Hi, I'm an "old" player. Graduated bite cones was the last straw for me, and I almost completely stopped playing the game, checking in once every few months to see the game deteriorate. Culminating with gorgeous' brick skulks in 24…A "whisk" of birch twigs?Very much against.
NS 1 started out fun, but not well balanced, and every game played out pretty much the same. It was unable to sustain lasting interest. The first major patch (server+client) was originally known as 1.1, but became so e…(Quote)
Half-life and mods based on valve's example mod in the HL SDK at first had no lag correction and effectively a 3 times runspeed cap on bunnyjumping(this was the maximum air speed of a player). Both of those were fixed in later rele…(Quote)

Two problems with this.
1) UWE isn't doing exactly the same thing over and over. If they did exactly the same thing the patches should be byte-wise identical. Clearly this isn't what we're talking about.

Same, although starving is never a direct threat. You can always get food by being reckless or at the expense of sanity.
