@Mephiles uh, you don't have to sign up to ensl to organise a scrim. You have to sign up to compete in nsl sure - but really the main hurdles are 4. and 5.

If I may pick it up from here - not to speak for cooltic. I think the popularity of this game is hurting by the decline of the competitive scene.
The game has a very steep learning curve and a very high skill cei… -
Looks awesome guys. ETA on x64 bit?

Or make an actual afk indicator.

I don't really play the game much anymore but I wanna chime in anyway.
Marines
- Added plasmacanon. A rapidly firing projectile weapon with high damage per second.
- Added rocketlauncher Exo. A high impact high splash damage … -
@BeigeAlert You won't believe it. But I just solved it...
I renamed the icon to "a0e0d97509fbe2b1155753a75c1f82a3492de774.ico" and it worked (giving me low … -
@BeigeAlert I tried the iconcahce.db thing first again with killing explorer, didn't work.
I can change the icon manually like you directed in the steam fol… -
btw, I used a steam shortcut. If I go in to the ns2 folder and create a shortcut from _that_, _then_ it's the correct icon.

didn't help. Also I have since both formatted and bought new computers and shit, so don't know how that file could possibly be corrupted every time.

Mine has looked like this since beta.

Good point, however, what about a compromise here. Allow a few preset options, like: low, medium, high latency compensation, or perhaps just two options? And adjust the serverbrowser so it informs players about this. -
Is latency compensation server configurable? Maybe that would be something to consider? Cus there's plenty of european players, we don't necessarily need a lot lag compensation for the european servers. And it might also work for competitive to lowe…

Dying around a corner is not a hitreg issue, it's a consequence of latency compensation and interpolation.

Aliens shouldn't be regenerating while under nervegas afaik.

It takes player armor yes.

Skulk is an inherently easier lifeform to learn and play imo. Most people will do better, with their skulks than they will with their lerks or fades. And not just in structure damage, that much is obvious, but in kills as well.

Ironhorse is a community manager? When did you agree to that ironhorse? xD Poor you.
-
(Quote) I completely agree - I'd extend it to let skulks have it as well.
Warsow also has auto-bunnyjump - it works great tbh. -
You can never go wrong with a Zowie FK1

(Quote) I view RT's as a secondary objective. Like in dirty bomb you can close or open a gate to give your team another avenue of attack or deny one. But they don't have anything to do with the win condition.

I'm all for adding more marine weapons - including a sniper. The shotgun monopoly has always made the game somewhat stale. But I suspect the development time that requires is just too much. It's probably better to try and make the flamethrower more …

hydras are freaking strong, don't buff em please!

(Quote) FT does have great opportunity cost though. A flamethrower means one less shotgun. Which is probably why you hardly ever see it in competitive play. And I'd add, that flamethrower actually does require a great deal of tracking skil…

Why is this, otherwise excellent thread, being derailed by this garbage? Who cares who got which idea from who. We got a really excellent review from a fresh pair of eyes; talk about that. Not this stupid shit.
NS2 is the shit, end of di… -
@MicroMacXPX You're awfully generous in this review. I hate to bash on the developers, I too think they did an amazing job with the game. However, when you describe it…

No logical reason other than for the sake of gameplay?
If you're asking about a sort of "lore background" reasoning for the difference, then what is the reason to have health bars to begin with? I really don't care about the lore or the … -
Inconsistent. Such a buzzword. Not only is inconsistency not necessarily bad, in this particular case it isn't actually inconsistent at all. It's a very easily described ruleset, it literally took me one sentence to describe: Only onos and fades …
-
My position was; remove it in compmod, don't care what happens in pub.
But maybe there is a compromise. Would it be so terrible, if we kept healthbars on Onos and perhaps fades? But removed them on skulks, lerks and gorges? -
Here, take mine @dePARA.

Did you have to add the cancer music?
