New mouse movement almost makes it unplayable, feels like a completely different game now,

It's the same reason that most people don't even use the minimap.

The casting was great but I think some more first-person view would have helped show off the game.
NS2 really doesn't look as special from topdown, but on full detail it looks fantastic in first person view. -

Reddog was on the #1 slot on the front page, the Multiplay stream (same feed as Ns2 stream) was on the last slot on the front page, and the NS2 stream wasn't even on the front page.

Just save for exo, it's the only thing that will take down those fades.
They are good if you are getting gassed, but if aliens have gas you've probably already lost. -
There is too much weight on the first wave of marines, you can literally lose the game after 30 seconds if you don't take and hold enough ground. If you have a couple of bad engagements it will block the spawn queue and you're basically ruined.

FPS master race.
Needs more linkage:

Some great logic here. It's fine for them to ruin something, as long as you don't like it.Cosmetic unlocks in NS2 would be great, even if it's only a logo on the side of the LMG, or different grip colour on the pistol.
This sort of thing works well in other games, why not NS2? Maybe not worth the effort?(Quote)
Pick any game that is in the steam sale, then look at player numbers next week.

MM would not save enough of those new players. Lack of MM is not the only reason people stop playing after a sale. There isn't enough players to do any sort of balancing.
The problem is lack of players.250 is still unbalanced, it's just unbalanced differently now.
People are still learning the intricacies of alien tech and movement, it will be a while yet before people can say for sure if it's much better. There are 2 sorts of long games. Those where marines are pinned on one base and it's just a matter of Aliens not being able to quickly finish it. And those games where you move around the map capturing eachothers tech points - usually 2 tech points …Had a 70+ minute game on mineshaft, I got bored and left. Just chasing eachother around the map.
The game does feel more balanced, but also aliens feel a lot weaker mid and late game. It's all downhill from fade-explosion time.
More purchasers = more players, you can't argue that's a bad thing.I guess it depends on where you are located and what times you play, but there's loads of EU servers with <100 ping, I regularly see at least 1 full page of 20 player+ servers full. There is only 1 server I've played in that has major tickrate is…1 base exos feels like last stand in regular NS2.(Quote)
You're saying that people are forced to play in 32 player servers because they are the only ones available with free slots and an active player base?

If every server was a 32 player server, would you stop playing?

Didn't really expect to see this sort of rubbish on the NS2 forum.I don't think NS2 has enough players or time to properly balance it, any sort of rebalance is just going to move the problems around.
Going f2p is pointless unless you can also sell something to those players. Probably a fairly large task to rework the game and introduce some paid content that doesn't rock the boat too much.
I think it would be great to reignite the ga…This is one of those things that looks really OP but actually since nobody uses gorge tunnels it's not an issue.

You can cap FPS with tools like MSI Afterburner, saves my graphics card drawing 100% power during main menu
\:D/I'm getting the same as the OP, periodic FPS drops e.g. sudden drop from 50FPS to 20 FPS for 30 seconds, then back up to 50. Happens on every map, sometimes I can go for an entire game with no bad periods and sometimes it happens 5 or 6 times per ga…I'll try and get some more profile shots but I presume it rescaled the bars when I caused that large bump due to unpausing the profiler.
