Not sure if it'll help, but try the suggestion here:

As the testers have stated many times before, they pick up many things, but lots of it does not get fixed before the release the patch. So it's very likely they knew about the performance issues, but not all of the performance issues got fixed befo…

I'll be the first one to say "I told you so" to all the people who disagreed with my post when , after some time passes, they still haven't reached $550k.

Would only work if the consoles provided mouse + keyboard support, however, they are so hard up for use of their controllers and pretty much all console users use a controller.... it just wouldn't work out for NS2... unless NS2 was… -

Your math is also off. While they may have sold that many copies, a large amount of those no longer play. A better representation would be to look at the amount of unique players over the course of 2-3 days. -
UWE should make NS2 free to play and charging for different skins would provide the revenue.... more players playing the more revenue from this.

I noticed that when my FPS drops to ~30-35, the input lag gets much more noticeable.
I went lerk and was holding down the mouse button to spike some marines, my fps dropped, and I could not hit them at all due to how ba… -
After playing, I don't see where I would ever use Alien vision ever again.... the normal improved vision works for everything.

I don't know about that. I find it just as hard to aim with all the screen tearing.
Either way though, I am noticing far more input lag with the new update. -

ew how can you play with vsync off.... the screen tearing is annoying as hell. -
I would play #1 over #2 anyday.
I prefer a much more action orientated FPS game than a slow drawn out game. -
yep, anyone who complains about hit registry needs to actually take a slow motion video because you'll see that it is the bullets going inbetween skulks legs or just barely missing.
Unlike a lot of FPS games, the hit "boxes" are very clo… -
I feel like that shirt is missing something. Perhaps the slash marks representing the number 2 in natural selection 2 in the background of the shirt.
-
lol unclecrunch, you make it sound like no game should ever require anything more than a 2ghz CPU. However, you are missing so much. Where those CPU cycles get used up is FAR more complicated than what you are trying to say. I could go into mor…

It really makes no sense whatsoever why the obs shows alien types to players but not the comm. I've brought this up a long time ago and it was largely ignored.

It's funny how I get disagrees to saying that 24 players have Aliens win just as much as smaller servers. I guess those people don't look at ns2stats. *cough* go look up the stats Zomb3h.

I'd just like to point out that Aliens have just as high of a win rate on 24 player servers compared to smaller servers. It is a myth that Marines become "all powerful" with more players. -
Here are 2 truths:
1) UWE will never restrict player counts to 20 on a server.
2) 24 player count servers will always remain the most popular.
Deal with it.
You can argue about the reasons why, but a… -

In terms of the amount of logic states that are running, an RTS game will have just as many compared to NS2. However, there are things an RTS game do not deal with that makes it run better.
Most RTS games have very sim… -
lol please, just stop Unclecrunch, you really have no idea what you are talking about.
You are basically trying to argue that we all should be getting massive frames per second because the code is not that complex.....

1) There are 24 slot servers that have great performance (IE: Mavick's Server)
2) Some people get good enough performance with that many players (I do).
3) Believe it or not, 24 slot players is actually … -

lol dumbest thing I've ever read.
So a 70% win rate for aliens in comp play Div1 is balanced?
Most marine tech becoming useless in comp play is balanced?

just one of the reasons why comp play is pretty lame and yet... so advertised and supported by the devs even though it's just a shadow of what the game offers. -

You missed part of his point. No longer can things be coded in machine language. Going to a higher level language like C causes a performance loss over doing it in machine code, let alone adding LUA on top of C.

There's a couple of things you need to know.
Just because on your screen your view is behind a wall, doesn't necessarily mean your model is all the way behind the wall, this is because of the length of the Alien models and where the 'cam… -

One of the things we know for certain is that it will bring in an influx of new players with a sale on Steam attached to it and then a week or 2 weeks later the playerbase will drop back down to where it was before the update. -

The problem with balance is that you cannot just look at win/loss ratios alone, however, they can give you an overall general idea about the state of the game.
To truly balance this game though, you have to look at win/… -

I enjoyed Savage 2 thoroughly. I also enjoy NS2.
If you liked the savage games, you'll like Natural Selection.
NS2 has a little bit of a higher learning curve to be good in my opinion compared to Savage 2 as NS2 is more "fir…
