The hit registration is actually good in this game. Like ironhorse pointed out, the hitbox is very tightly bound to the model, in fact the hitbox may as well just be the model itself. So you can easily miss tracers in between legs of a skulk. Unl…

are you saying 250 made the game simpler? it certainly did not, but did the opposite. They lost players from it and they didn't really attract new players either.
-
Well, you stopped playing on the best build of the game, 249. 250 and up just made the game lame, minus some smaller changes and content that have been good.

cysts should be made stronger and be made more important for the aliens such as for structure building/destruction, give flamethrower an even more cost reduction in pres. Doing this may actually give an incentive for other weapons to be used and …

lol what... comm making a drifter dance in a marines face was never a problem. It is a costly endeavor for the comm, 8 res down the drain. All this change does is make it even more annoying to use a drifter and doesn't address the real problems.

Either UWE needs to improve the efficiency and speed of consistency checking or greatly reduce the amount of files that are being checked or remove it altogether.

NS2 needs a system like Savage 2 for commander.
Before a round starts people choose something like "I want to be a commander". Then everyone votes for who they want to be commander out of the list and the person with the most votes is m… -
Builds 250 and on made the game progressively not fun in my eyes, which is when sewlek started taking over balance issues with changes that only served the veteran community and made it even worse for new players.

These days, PC gaming is also about indie games and FREE games that consoles don't allow. Thereby, making gaming actually cheaper on a PC because there are a plethora of free games or cheap indie games that are enjoyable. Whereas… -
You forgot:
Carrot on a stick feature
Reworking of the learning curve
That and client performance are the 3 biggest things that can be done in order to RETAIN players and thus keep a healthier comp scene. -

Even a mid range ~$100-$110 dollar card will last a gamer at least 2 years, unless you are a competitive gamer in the latest games that needs as high fps as possible to stay competitive.

Video cards are one of the fastest items in a computer that devalue in price. In 6 months you'll be able to get that 770 for half the price, if not even less. I don't see the point in spending that much for a video card as a resu… -
while this debate about amd ati vs NVidia is off-topic from the thread.. I still want to chime in with something.
When *most* people buy video cards, they aren't looking at the highest cost cards to buy, they are looking for the best car… -

quick join is quite handy in some games, especially a quick join that lets you specify variables you want to exclude from joining. For example, quick join for TF2's Machine vs Machine gameplay. You can pick which map(s) and diffi… -

That's one of the most false statements I've ever read. Simply not true at all. Every game that has achieved any level of success has had their largest demographic in the casual players. They didn't have a small core of players … -
You mean with the world cup that won't get the $30k to happen.....
In any case, I played Savage 2 for awhile. It was good, but really completely different from NS2. It also had certain issues as well, although not nearly as many as NS2… -

Which could result in a wide array of changes. I'm not the one that would need to figure out those specific changes. That would be UWE's job. Although I could certainly come up with some. -

Actually, the "carrot on a stick" works quite well. Why do you think so many games do it now? Just one of the reasons game developers started turning to psychologists for help was for learning how to retain players and keep the… -

@Hugh, I'd be more impressed if you could tell me how many of those players were retained and kept playing the game. If you can't retain players, you can't … -

Except the priorities UWE set in order to try and reach their goal of "being a contender in the esports scene" were never achieved. Since their priorities didn't help them reach their goal, you can say they were misplaced.

The issue isn't about giving UWE time. The issue is about misplaced priorities.
Misplaced priorities that make it so that the game won't grow no matter how hard you try to promote it. -

I've mentioned it before, but changes that either employ a "carrot on a stick" routine or making changes that make the game more user friendly by changing, removing or adding features and by increasing performance further. Whether… -

That's a matter of opinion, obviously, and i'll have to disagree with you there. However, on one thing, I've said this before on here, a lower skill ceiling does not necessarily hurt competitive play.
