Nope. This would warrant defensive weapons. Which can be also non-lethal. -

You mean how humanity worked in the past and works in the present? Who's to say the humanity present in the SN world will act that way?
This a very fundamental question that I've longed for an answer from the devs for s… -
A fascinating idea, which would probably produce the most awesome looking bases, still..
Building on a floating creature/microecosystem would probably eventually kill it; added extra weight, limiting exposure to sunlight and so on. I don… -

Have you harvested the Sparse Reef and the Grand Reef already? -
I'd like the following things
- way deeper diving range than previous vehicles
- possibility to collect stuff when in the suit
- maybe some extra storage space
In self defense maybe a mounted stasis rifle of some sort. … -

That's actually a very good analogy. It will be most interesting if the game encourages the player to come up with creative solutions to different threats. -

I ran into something related to that on Trello, whatever this means...

These are good ideas, and also rather easy to implement. So how about:
- Non-respawning nodes of quartz on the seabed & caves that show no volcanic activity (no longer at least)
- Respawning quartz on volcanic spots… -
Got tired of my old, boring base in the shallows, so I deconstructed it and loaded it into my Cyclops! Now I'm all set up at the roots of the Floater Islands.
Floating would be nice. Or on top of something solid. At least both of these options should be implemented, and maybe some others. The more alternative ways there are to build your base, the more gorgeous and imaginative bases people will build.(Quote)
Oh yeah that thread was pure awesomeness. I hope that discussion will be taken into consideration by the developers. Would also be nice to be able to craft nutrient blocks at some point, but not too early in the game or too easily. This suggests a rather fast pace of evolution don't you think? How would that be explained?
Many, although not all, of these effects could be explained by changes in behaviour when environmental changes happen. It would be really cool if…(Quote)
Well.. There is the lower hatch. For me that would suffice

So how does the creature stay in stasis while in inventory? How about some craftables:
- A stasis box. Like the storage cube, but maybe smaller like 2x2 or 3x3? For longer term sample storaging.
- A stasis compartment/p…(Quote)

The game already features a Cyclops too. There are also many other concepts besides mythologies/gods to use as inspiration. Oh yes indeed. Also, I'd love to see the bigger fishies (stalkers, bone sharks, sand sharks) swim alongside their offspring and acting more aggressively when approached, defending their young.
(Quote) Good thinking. That might be an extra motive to explore the found alien structures; does the sentient race still exist?

I hope in the future, killing too many creatures will eventually lead to harmful things to the player indirectly through changes in biodiversity. It would seem to blend well into an open world/sandbox -type of game.
