I'd guess that it's something to do with your GPU since the corruption in the screenshot you showed us is indicative of something going wrong on the GPU side of things. It's unusual for faulty hardware to only trigger in one game though assuming oth…

(Quote) You can't chew on ghosts. They will refund when you get close enough as an alien. You can shoot them down with ranged attacks though, so either the lerk's spikes or gorge's spit/bilebomb can take them down. It's a cool feature, but I don'…

Try this as well. I had this issue and could not fix it until I deleted Workshop folder in "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2"
The AppData folder is hidden. You'll have to enable viewing hidden items to see it.
This is either a driver or a hardware issue. Games cannot cause such an issue. They can however trigger an existing problem in the drivers or hardware that isn't triggered otherwise.
Definitely update to the latest graphics drivers and c…That's actually really damn impressive, but it has to be emphasized that that is a water-cooled overclocked over $300 CPU, very very fast RAM, and 6v6 on a private professional server. Gameplay on such a server is not representative of what you'll s…(Quote)
Nobody is getting 100FPS. As a dev you should probably be aware of this. People with $200 2500K and 3570K CPUs that are also overclocked can't maintain 60 in lategame fights, at least before this patch. Hopefully after the patch a …Performance is significantly better with this patch. Thanks UWE!
It's still not "Good" though. I'm still being limited by a 4Ghz AMD 8120. I have a really terrible Radeon 5670 (it's a terrible $90-100 budget card from three years ago) an…The game uses deferred rendering. With DX9 deferred rendering games anti-aliasing is not possible. FXAA is not "real" antialiasing. It's a shader, and yes that's what the game uses. Other DX9 games with deferred rendering like Stacraft 2 can't anti-…I'd like to point out that this game's GPU requirements are actually quite low (for low settings). I have a 5670 ($100 budget card 3 years ago) and the game is consistently limited by my FX-8120. I have to scale my resolution down to 1280x800 for th…It is absolutely not possible to get 120fps in this game. Insanely overclocked 2500ks and 3570ks sometimes can't even maintain 60 during very large fights. This game is entirely CPU limited. I have a 3 year old $100 budget GPU that runs the game fin…There are two bottlenecks in a game. NS2 lets you figure out which one is which. Type in r_stats in the console (opened with the ~ key), and you'll get a bunch of stats. The second line will be GPU wait time. If this number is at 0 then it means you…(Quote) No you're not missing anything. You have a dual-core. Dual-cores have really low temperature because they use very little power.
My build:
FX 8120Last patch did bump up my framerate a bit. I expect more to come in the future. The devs have stated it's a priority and that they'll be working on optimizations for a while.I've just started watching pro play, but the first thing I noticed is Archaea never miss. I didn't see their newer games, but they seem to be stronger as Marines because they simply never miss. They mow skulks down with ease, especially Fana.
<…Keep in mind that the 3570k is very expensive, costing almost twice as much as the 6100 you got. Intel CPUs are considerably faster especially for gaming, but their upfront cost is a lot higher. You can get good performance out of that CPU at its de…There's nothing wrong with playing the game even though it is unbalanced. This game is the most multiplayer fun I've had in several years. NS2 is that good. The balance issue is not something the devs are ignoring. They have confirmed it to be a con…No, SysWoW64 is for 32-bit. Microsoft kept the same name scheme when moving to 64-bit, so system32 remained system32 even though the OS is 64-bit. SysWoW64 is the name they gave for the 32-bit compatibility layer. It's a very confusing name scheme. The D3DX9_42.dll DLL in system32 that you're talking about is bigger because it's the 64-bit one. The one in SysWoW64 is the 32-bit one and is the exact same size as the one you guys ship. That's the one the game finds when the one in the game direc…So I've figured out why some people are getting an engine error with the DLL switch and why some people are not. Let's clear things up. There's two versions of each DLL. One for 32-bit, and one for 64-bit (if you're running 64-bit Windows). The Syst…
