We're hoping to do some VR fixes once we've updated the engine to Unity 2018. A number of us on the team have VR headsets and want to get it working better. I can't say any dates, but it's something we want to do.

@diLuca We try and respond as much as possible, but we do all the forum posting ourselves. When we're posting on forums, we're not working on the game.
We're close to getting the engine upgrade to Unity 2018 done, just a few small things. Once that's done we're going to roll-in Panic Button's work and try and get a patch out. No ETA, but certainly much closer than before.(Quote)
Subnautica was not designed as a multi-player game.
Work continues daily on PS4, as well as XboxOne & PC/Mac.We are using Unity for the Expansion, because it allows us to get a big head-start. Switching to another engine would mean starting virtually all code from scratch.Thanks so much for playing, and the support!The game is 'done' in terms of content. We launched 1.0 and got everything in that we wanted to finish the game as a stand-alone experience.
We are still planning performance & bug patches however. A lot of the work that Panic Button…We're not planing on adding any more content to the base game right now. This is not to say never, but isn't in any plans.Xbox has all the same content as PC does. It's just not as good with performance (which is why we're not calling it finished yet).

Unity was fast for us to build on, way back in 2014. We were able to get up and running fast, and develop the game fast. Other engines were not as mature at the time.
