Are you serious? I said earlier in another thread that while the PDT does listen to it's community, they just don't always understand (or don't try to). And here you are asking why exactly people dislike the HP bars, while tons of … -

Why should it take any longer? -
I think they do listen, all the time. They actually try really hard. But unfortunately, I fear they often simply do not understand.

Maybe, instead of wasting bandwidth on nonsensical arguments, you could actually try and comprehend the issue that I, as well as many others, have clearly explained over and over again. -

Yes, I want everyone to suffer. Clearly that is what will happen if we revert a change that has been made +3 years after release, which no one asked for, and which most people want to see gone again.
I can only imagine … -

You guys still don't get it. Disabling HP bars isn't a real option. If you turn it off, you give up all that vital information gain and basically handicap yourself. I find the HP bars ugly and distracting more than anything, but I'… -
This makes me sad.
The reality is, HP bars don't help rookies in any way. There already is damage feedback, in numbers, sound and on the crosshairs. They already know if they're doing damage and how much. HP bars won't really give them a… -

@remi Any chance of having you reconsider these HP bars now? -

10/10 would donate again. -
I remember all the optimism and positive vibes. Good times.

COD, BF and CS never needed HP bars to become massively popular amongst casual players. And never did NS1. A major aspect of this game is that it promotes teamwork and communication to be succesful. That's always been a selling point, a thing that s…

I like the idea about HP bars being visible for commanders only. At least it would still promote communication between comm and fieldplayers.

One can tweak how it looks on your screen, when it pops up, the duration for which it is displayed, whether or not you can disable it, stuff like that, just as they have done now in the latest patch. But you just can't tweak the fact that it provide…

@remi
My first thought was to limit it to two options "keep" and "remove", but I'm pretty sure if I did that I'd get remarks on how there should be a third option… -
The nutrient mist change is quite a big buff. I don't see much reason now for a marine to spend time and ammo to decyst structures compared to just shooting it. Like the changes for the gorge though. Not sure about the pres change, will have to see …

Well, I could add "Remove it, but remove it." if you prefer?

I started a poll to see how much support there is for the health bars. You can vote here. http://forums.unknownworlds.com/disc…

I agree, something like a deathcam would be the dream solution, and do wonders to help people learn how to engage as aliens. -

Yes, it's not good to have different versions, but it's also not good to impose a thing like this in the first place. Yet it was, and now we're trying to figure out what to do with it. NS1 did fine without HP bars, and it was never… -
Clearly this feature isn't aimed towards veteran/competitive players, but rather the new folks, in order to give them a better understanding of damage feedback, right? The side effect is that it has a bigger impact than foreseen, as not only it make…

Ah yes, I remember there is a tipvid for walljumping, but that's hardly much you know. -
The new tutorials are really good. Well done. Hopefully though, there are also plans for smaller lifeform tutorials? Walljumping for skulks is so crucial, and there's no way for new players to know how to properly walljump unless someone else tells …

Players who are completely new to the game finally have a place now where they can learn the game without getting stomped mercilessly, and still people find a way to complain about it.

That's just the sort of pseudo-philosophical nonsensical thinking that gets you nowhere in reality. Sounds very deep and insightful though. One could probably write a very lengthy yet incredibly vague newpost about it.
-
Well, it all feels like a pointless discussion really. What still matters most is where this game wants to go next, not how. Depending on the former, one can decide on the latter.

From an outsiders point of view, it seems like there's a lot of bridges being burned down lately. People who've been doing some great work for free, in their limited spare time, don't appear to be treated with the respect they deserve. Letting the C…

It's a real shame things worked out as they did. Can't thank you enough for all the work you've done!

I don't think I've ever played another FPS that has less hackers than NS2. There's just a much much bigger skill gap between new/casual players and those who have gotten really good at this game. It can be like pitting casuals who've never played a …

I'd prefer the cost to stay, but the tech to be available a lot earlier, like on biomass 3. Most of the times when webs are researched, the game is decided already anyway and you don't get much use out if it.
