  • In reference to balance, according to ns2stats.org, since June 26 it's been 51% aliens to 49% marine wins. In just the last 24 hours it's been 53% aliens to 46% marines. When I polled my server about it (meaning the 24 player one, with many experien…
  • lmao, well played
  • I'm not going to say matchmaking wouldn't take away alot of problems people see alot, me included. I just have no idea how they would implement it with a bunch of independently owned/operated servers. Most games that do matchmaking also run their ow…

It only makes no sense to you because the patch is barely a week old at this point. Buffs are now also associated with structures, just as they were in NS1. It's not exactly a giant leap that now abilities are too. In a months time…

  • Meh, screw that guy honestly. He does more trolling then anything worthwhile on these boards. Let him stay banned, he had plenty of chances to get his act together.

  • The most decent thing you have in that machine is your processor and it's probably the sole reason you can even run the game enjoyably at all tbh. Overlooking the fact you're still running XP (which probably isn't that big of a deal and maybe even h…
  • Somehow players using their abilities wisely in a group to accomplish an objective is now labelled as "unprecedented". Interesting.
  • Not all are set up that way Tharos. The ones that people are complaining about here show their total slots and with open slots, yet those slots are reserved and they don't know that until they load in and get kicked due to it.

Since I paid for the game about a year and a half ago and not a dime since, I'd say his pills are just fine, whatever he's taking.
  • Sounds like OP is all about nerfing marines and buffing aliens. Probably a bad idea when aliens are winning heavily in competitive. Not that I'm for balancing due to competitive, it just shows that people who have likely spent more time with the cha…

100% truth. All the tools are there just too few aliens care to use them or at least use them properly.
  • Not sure a scaled down version of leap isn't still going to be too powerful honestly. I mean, I like what you're saying in theory I just think that's going to make early game aliens too strong. Leap with the new skulk movement is really amazing. The…

  • It's not a bad idea but problematic for the simple fact of having skulks with leap at biomass 1. Not really going to work well with early game marines.

Completely untrue. I've only had 1 problem with Shine and that was yesterday due to him updating it. It was fixed at map change. ns2stats on the other hand, has been far, far worse.

Good luck with that. All you're doing is losing time getting used to the changes like most other players. Once the game gets to a point where these mods aren't viable in keeping with newer content you might like right from the star…

  • My reasons are pretty obvious: I was shit with 249 and under fade. I feel like I can actually play the 250 fade effectively. And yes I understand I'm playing against some new players the last few days but the mechanics seem to make more sense to me.

Heh, EVERYONE was a more effective fade in NS1 then NS2. It's not like it was hard to play it. And as far as all this "use more energy talk".... I don't know, can't really compare because I honestly hated playing fade before 250, a…
  • Yeah sorry, I'm perfectly fine without the NS1 Fade and have been for quite some time :P
  • And this is why I've kept my servers as mod light as possible. Call me old school, but that kind of nonsense would piss me off too, no doubt about it.
  • Like currently and industry said, it's all about mastering the movement prior to entering combat. There's really no need to hold down the blink button for more then a second. And the pseudo bhop is as easy as using the blink to start and just jumpin…
  • I'm like polar opposite on the fade lol. I was always miserable on any iteration of the old fades prior to this build. Now, with the new movement I'm actually doing pretty good with them. I still miss alot of swipes because I'm just an average playe…
  • One thing I can say with certainty after playing all weekend is that aliens are losing more. However, it doesn't mean they're weaker. I saw games where aliens had a huge overwhelming advantage (like having marines pinned in their base with only 1/2 …
  • They didn't exactly sell the game for AAA money. Most of their sales have come off massively reduced prices on an already cheap game. You're being a bit unrealistic if you expect they're ready to balloon out like that already. Plus, I'm quite happy …
  • Right there with you man. I really didn't expect 250 to restore my interest in the game as much as it has, but I'm loving all of the changes.
  • Now live as 18 player. Changed OP to reflect this. In the future (meaning after the sale), I might also consider removing the rookie friendly tag and opening it up more for vets. I'll wait and see what kind of regulars it develops and make a judgeme…
  • Ok, server is going down to 18 player once Bluefang gets back to me on it. I'll edit the OP once the change is made.
  • Like I said, it was a compromise lol. I still prefer larger servers but this one isn't *as* large, so that should hopefully be some bit of an improvement for those seeking them, even if it's a small one.
  • Just a heads up but Shine now has a vote random based on KDA, which is perfect in my book. New server will be running that and I'll also be changing Mavick's Pub over to incorporate that as well instead of score based.
  • No, I don't think I misunderstood a thing. In fact, I've read the suggestions about putting in a ranking system. I know there's an ns2stats ELO system that's already been tried. Unfortunately, the facts are that ns2stats aren't even working for this…
