If you play on stable build then it's normal. In the new update they only added new creatures and new areas in the lost river but no precursor bases or the gun.

Was asking myself the same but then I build the cyclops and put some planters with melons, a fabricator and a power cell and battery charger in it. Now I am exploring all the time and don't have to worry.

You need to start a new game to get the updates properly and the side entrance does not exist anymore. You now have to go to the exploded front part of the ship and enter a ramp to get to the inner rooms.

1. You can't even build more then 1 or 2 because they drain just SO MUCH energy

I absolutely agree with you. This feature really needs to be added especially since the powernap update where you can actually "sleep". Don't know about you guys but I wouldn't sleep without turning the lights off.
