If stones grew on trees,
could they be called leaves,
provided they moved in the wind,
or would they have to be green?

Seriously, though, when you read CH. M.'s poetry, sometimes you get the feeling he is familiar with UWE development process, just see for yourself:

Clorf? Sounds like a name from Christian Morgenstern's poetry.

@james888 - I have a similar experience, 10 - 20 sec loading time max, I am usually one of the earliest players on a new map ;-)

What I really don't like is the "piranha mentality" of the people who tagged the OP with "disagree" and "spam" tags, though his point are to larger extent valid. When you log to a public game, you will be most of the time presented with an unsatisfa…

Right now, I am very pessimistic about NS2. Nobody has ever confirmed the new problems reintroduced by the latest content patch are being worked on. Well, good luck with your new game.

I think the reasons are purely religious, for i is written:
"What He hast bound,
thou shalt unbindeth not!"
Or something like that... -
I don't mind the loading times. What I do mind is the omnipresent micro-stuttering and rubber-banding that never leaves you entirely. Entities come close? Have a little lag, friend. It even serves as an early warning that skulks are waiting in ambus…

I would like the game to be polished. I would welcome a better commander UI with status indicators about players' health and ammo. I would like an alien vision that does not hurt the eyes. I would like the meaningless features lik… -
Maybe if hallucinations auto-attacked nearby marines, doing no damage? Some clips would be surely wasted.

I don't think it matters much, as I perceive xenocide as "babblers style" ability - gimmicky and not too useful.
When you fulfill the prerequisites, you are probably already winning, so it does not matter. Even then, you will do more dam… -

The problem is game developers constantly underestimate the importance of a good UI, while UI is what makes or breaks the game. To make a good UI, you need a specialist in just that area who knows everything about ergonomy and how … -

I second that. Strafe jump was unbearable in previous 25x, now it seems okay.

Alien vision haiku:
Tales of blind bowmen

That introduction section is almost ominous. I remembered Kane from C&C saga.

Marking polite and on-topic responses as "spam" is IMO over the top. So I reciprocated with an abuse flag to brighten up your day.
How exactly are you going to determine whether a rubber-banding instance is client or server issue? -

There is a simple answer to your question, sir. People are bitching, because there is a negligible chance you get a satisfactory gaming experience in public games. Each time you log in, the game is ruined by a combination of the fo… -
@Roobubba - I agree completely. I thought that with the latest patch, minimal AV will work everywhere, but it does not, and it makes sense that only unmodded NS2 is allow…

Lot's of micro-laginess in various situations. But I cannot really quantify if it worse or better than before, NS2 was always a "game of thousands little lags".

@Jiriki - please stop feeding us the liberal economy fairy tales, the recent crisis has already invalidated much of it anyway.
Lot of the benefits you name are … -
Tried the minimal AV that worked for me everywhere I went, and while it works quite nicely, there are very ugly dotted white lines on the boundaries between sections ow walls, it reminds me old Riva128 driver problems.

Why is it a dead horse? The problem persist, an obnoxious AV was introduced, so the topic is still relevant.

What the original poster is saying is true, it's so obvious especially after these large sales where it's impossible to get a meaningful pub game.
-
I was hoping for a fix for one of the most moronic control issues in this game - the fact that you need to switch weapons to defend with bone shield, and switch weapons again to attack. Whoever invented this should be hanged.

Indeed, I am not a lawyer, but since law analogies were used by SantaClawz, it's interesting to find out where would they lead us. Law does not define crimes or transgressions based on motives (because those are nigh impossible to … -
SantaClaws, I don't know if your guy is guilty or not, but I hope you are not a lawyer, because by using obvious logical fallacies, you are doing more harm than good to your "client". What Ironhorse wrote is absolutely true - once you are caught wit…

Looks kinda stomach-upsetting.

If you open your map, you will find out that every room has a name. Using that name for navigation and reporting is trivial. If you don't open the map every few seconds when out of combat to check the tactical situation and find wh… -
Well, If I recall correctly, squads have been discussed, and dismissed as not practical for such a fast, dynamic game on relatively small map. Roles of players are constantly changing, and instead of looking for your family in the fray, you would be…
