The shadow issue is one I share, the lighting had a similar problem.
Shadows use a 'cube-map' as well? -
My old suggestion, in the scenario of an immediate to just after ammo drop, the ammo picked is allocated to the weapon with which the ammo request was made.
This eliminates the pistol issue I have constantly, which was outlined above. -

For Shade dropping, structures within the cloak AOE radius could flash to show if they will receive the effect.
Same with visible enemy structures to ARCs/whips, and possibly hydras as well. Also crags for heal/umbra range. -

I believe all researching structures should indicate they are doing so, and with what. With the arms lab, the hologram is more than enough, change up that model 5 more times and it's perfect. Armory to advanced is done.
