(Quote) From testing, Solar is decent down to 100m depth or so. It's at 50% there, but that's still pretty good. A single panel still out-generates a bioreactor at that depth, even if only holds about 1/6 as much charge.
Edit: I feel … -
Okay, so, time for some testing.
NOTE: the balance adjustment seems to be bugged. The panel shows 75 power, but still contains 150 as before. The 75 only shows on solar panel mouseover, and at full power drain, when the base drops from "1/150"… -

I suspect they will. Bioreactors are king now, which probably isn't the intended end result. I'll need to test the falloff once this change hits experimental but tentatively I'm thinking this is a good plan. If you want a massive s… -
(Quote) Getting there, maybe. It's a decent progression now, anyway.

(Quote) What about going back to this, but then letting the lifepod transmit power to any nearby base component (or make one of the three cells removable)? Maybe scale back the lifepod's power gen, so you're encouraged to look for alternatives.I think I get the thought process behind adding silver, though. As it stood before the change, if you were even remotely close to the surface, there was little or no reason to build anything other than a huge solar farm. Basically they were underpri…(Quote) Yeah, I did exactly the same thing after the update landed.
(Quote) Ever since I discovered you could put hatches in the bottom of base tubes, I've just done that and assumed the air is pressure-equalized with the water outside (It would have to be for the moonpool to function). This is also how the hatch…(Quote) Only like... an hour before. I mean, don't get me wrong, I hope you're right about it, but I think it still needs attention drawn to it.(Quote) It's counterintuitive, but you should swim towards crashfish. When they charge you, swim past. They can't turn around in time. In 90% of cases, this avoids all damage. And yeah, carry some medpacks if you're not sure about the timi…(Quote) The problem there is that you then have NO method of base reinforcement before finding Lithium, meaning new players bases would be strictly size limited.Unfortunately, terrain deformation and anything connected to terraforming is basically depreciated at this point. Technically the mechanics still exist, but any new saves have no non-cheat way of interacting with them (not counting crashfish divots,…(Quote) Looks like this got shoved into the backlog. I really think it's a mistake to launch with a major base component basically broken...*snip* nevermindI'm not sure if it works on corpses, but you can always do what I did the last time a reefback decided to get stuck in my moonpool. Toggle on "instagib" via console, smack the offending beastie (which will vanish immediately), then toggle back off.(Quote) Hey, at least you can decorate your base with the captain's spiffy Aurora miniature now.(Quote) It seems to still be inconsistent. I was getting glare on experimental in one of the tunnels between lost river levels, to the point I could barely see the wall of the tunnel in front of me as I descended. (I F8'd the spot, so if it's loc…They need to squash bugs, they need to deal with terrain map issues... but the rate at which they've been fixing things over the past month gives me reasonable hope for the final release. I'm hopping on experimental once a week or so and doing a bli…(Quote)
Fixed for cyclops in experimental. Only at the ocean surface though. The precursor gun moonpool still clips the same way.Didn't they say the Arctic was likely shifted to DLC? Or was that not official? It'd be interesting if we could find/activate a cyclops-sized portal to warp to another part of the planet.(Quote)
Seaglide with a decent storage compartment? But since it goes in your inventory anyway, it wouldn't save space...I'm just of the opinion that the Lost River is absurdly bright. All the deep caves (maybe not jellyshroom) should be a bit darker, but in the process you'd have to do a QOL pass on the Cyclops headlights, so they don't just reflect off the water hal…(Quote)
I was wondering why I suddenly got advanced user notification.THAT NOISE. Yeah, it's fixed in experimental. What's happening is the moonpool docking sound is broken and mixed up with the ghost leviathan cry, and there's a currently UN-fixed bug that every time you modify a base, your moonpool replays the docki…I'd settle for being able to learn their platform-positioning voodoo.I don't wanna have to scrounge six power cells for the Cyclops. =/(Quote) Shake your head all you want, but minimum requirements are still a thing.(Quote) You know what you did. They seem to be looking at game progression chokepoints. A couple updates back, people were having trouble locating the mobile vehicle bay, to the point that they had the seamoth, prawn AND cyclops unlocked before the unit that could build them. So …I never craft them, but I'll use one of the two you start with for the first night or two of a new game. Throw it, pick it back up (don't even have to be outside, just toss it on the floor of the lifepod), you have a free hand-light that's brighter …
