Went to Volcano Isle for the Sunbeam event. Discovered that Bulbo tree samples have been changed.
Bulbo tree samples used to be +3 Food +6 Water. They are now (version 58590) +6 Food +3 Water.

(Quote) Just tested this under version Jan-2018 58590. Fabricated a Scanner from a Titanium and a 69% Battery. This produced a 100% charged Scanner, so this Battery recharge exploit still exists.

I don't object to having the Air Bladder automatically deflate when unreadied, as that is realistic.
However, it is now completely useless as it doesn't improve surfacing speed. Alone, it pulls a player up slower than swimming up. Toge… -
I just did a test on the version out today, Jan-2018 58529, with the initial Air Tank and no other Tanks in my inventory. Swimming up from 80m took about 13s, or around 6.2m/s. Using the Air Bladder, took about 21s to come up from 80m, which is ris…

(Quote) It may be better now. But a couple months back in Experimental there were double or triple Stalkers. EVERYWHERE in the "Safe" Shallows they were right at your door.
-
(Quote) I agree. I miss "Great job not dying."
-
In my games a few months ago, there were just so many Stalkers that if I built a Scanner Room, they would come and steal the cameras. Got to point where I just stored them in a locker in the base.

(Quote) Do you mean Gel Sacks?
Gel Sacks are no longer found in the shallow trench near the port side of the Aurora. Last game (experimental) I played about a month or more ago, I found some Gel Sacks on the deeper slopes of Volcano … -
Great post, @scifiwriterguy . However....
Side note: the QEP probably only has to worry about gravity beam curving to hit its target. There's likely… -
I don't remember the first time I came close to a Reaper. But I do remember the first time one almost grabbed me. While freeswimming with a Seaglide near the port bow of the Aurora, I saw it close out of the corner of my eye, instinctively turned …

(Quote) You're talking about needing something like ~7+ km/s delta-V in the interaction. That's rather massive, not to mention likely destructive.
To have that much momentum in a laser beam to deliver to the Aurora, the energy in the… -
At high fractions of the speed of light, you don't get any perceptible orbit change passing by any object of lower than multiple solar masses. And if a ship the size of the Aurora--or its fragments--hit a planet at such a high speed, it's like a ma…

But from the Aurora itself and the wreck fragments, we see it does have Seamoth and PRAWN bays on-board, with large doors to open up to deploy them. If the Aurora itself wasn't intended to launch Seamoths and PRAWNs directly, it must have been for …

Lots of stages there.... -
(Quote) That sounds real cool! Come to think of it, seasonal specials make more sense for a multiplayer game.
Though they still could throw in a set of red robes.
I appreciate your thoughts on having someone like Sinterkl… -
I think UWE should just add in red robes and not comment on it further.
What? Not like you can restrict the distribution of red robes for some unnamed and uninfringing event.in What Holidays themed stuff would you like to see in Subnautica? Comment by Jacke December 2017

I've not loaded a save since Achievements were added. Planning to start a new experimental game for them.

A new topic perhaps, with a link back. But not this.

-
(Quote) Not completely necessary, but often it's better to start a new game when many things, especially the terrain and other fixed features, have changed.

Try just entering the URL like this: "localhost:63030", which worked for me. The browser will figure out the rest.

And now I'm imagining the voiceless protagonist, launching from a soon-to-be Carar-free 4546B, going into suspended animation. Being woke years later and learning that 4546B has now been colonized and has a booming tourist industry.
Whe… -

Cool! Only better thing would be if Volcano Isle actually had a volcano with a pool in it.

(Quote) When I get to that point, that's what I'll likely do too.
The Seamoth is odd. Get it about the same time as the Battery Charger, but can't recharge its Power Cell. Most times I limit its use until I get a recharge source, no… -
On an earlier run to Volcano Isle, I went inside the Gun facility, then inside the mountain and found the Arch and activated it. Went through it and saw the other end was on the Floating Isle. Didn't do anything then but went back.

I've never gotten to the point of unlocking Ion Batteries or Ion Power Cells. But I think a more important upgrade is the Swim Charge Fins, which keeps the Seaglide charged and allows low power use items to be quickly recharged either directly or b…

(Quote) Started a new Experimental game a week ago and frags have been tighter for the Scanner Room. Found one at the wreck near Lifepod 17. Just found a few more at the Grand Reef wreck at -284,-250,-850, at least 3 so it would have been suffi…

Went to the Jelly Shroom Cave Degassi Base. Scanned the Multipurpose Room, the Water Filtration Machine, and the Observatory, as well found frags for the Moonpool and the Stasis Rifle and a Databox with the Ultra High Capacity Tank blueprint. One …

As far as I know, all the things you can name have to be done directly. It would be a good addition to be able to rename Beacons from the Ping Tab of the PDA.

(Quote) Whoa.
In the last game I got far enough, I had set up about 6 or 8 chargers, but before I could use the Cyclops, I stopped playing Subnautica for a while.
That's over 3 sets of Powercells for the Cyclops on one run…
