People insist on playing big games (16 and up), and I just get a really bad feel with that many players. NS2 needs a proper pre game lobby system where people all join at the same time and play a whole round. It just doesn't work with drop in drop o…

the entire point is to stop people buying loads of 4 packs and reselling the individual keys for profit. Because of the obvious fact that a 4 pack is essentially buy 3 get one free. But if you're rich enough to just be giving away keys, then surely …

No.
Enjoy this montage of building stuff then failing to kill stuff. B181 is the text if you can't read it.Weird, I've never experienced that battlefield 3 hitching. Aside from the mouselag that was fixed I experienced some time ago(eons, like, a month or so) the only performance issue with NS2 I have is hitching.
I play on a dell S2240L IPS …I hope it's sorta like a pub party system. Where you join a matchmaking lobby, get a bunch of people in. Then all vote on a server to use. Which as you can probably imagine, is pretty much how ensl gathers work.
The ranking thing is inte…I don't like where this is heading.54 minutes, thanks for posting this.yeah, I would imagine it would be an overheating beep, probably the CPU reaching 100 degrees.

Actually NS2 is o…hmm, the probably solution is scattered through this thread and another thread, so I guess you're right.Yeah but I since removed the driver which would theoretically undo any optimisations. Problem is still for all intents and purposes gone.

hah.
Here's what seems to have done it: installing an unsigned mouse driver designed for competetive gamers. Then uninstalling the driver didn't re-break things which is strange.
if two usb devices is too much then I should just give up now. I got a playstation 3 controller and the mouse plugged into a hub right now. But as I said this problem has been happening for quite some time regardless of the set up. I think it was a …That was easy :PSetting my polling rate back to 1000hz doesn't seem to reproduce the issue. Which is incredibly frustrating that I can't reproduce it now. This leads me to think that it isn't simply down to polling rate but something else.3 cores I heard. One for each thread: render, client, predict. It's a limitation of Lua which doesn't allow for true multithreading. Which is good and bad.Yeah I'm using my logitech drivers now.
The weird part is I've got an i5 2500. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure an i5 2500 is more powerful than an i7 930.
But according to you, NS2 is using so much processing pow…Obraxis suggested I try to use a polling rate program from some sort of quake oriented competetive website.
I needed to install some unsigned driver in order to use the tool to change polling rate.
Anyway, I did that and the …Hey uh, next time you want to post console stuff like that could you pack it into a text document instead? You can use a free service like pastebin.
I love your english, it's pretty bad but awesome at the same time.Hey guys, AMD Mantle is an open standard( correct me if I'm wrong) and AMD has said that anyone can write a driver that's compatible with it. Heck, I think Nvidia already put out a beta driver with mantle support for the battlefield 4 beta.
Hey guys, I've been thinking and I'm going to change this into a full blown project that the community can help out in gathering data. I need to spend a few more days writing up the plan on how it's going to work. I'll still be posting a new video i…What kind of input lag are these fixes supposed to do? Is it obvious facepunching latencies?
Because the input lag I'm experiencing has not been affected at all by any of those fixes.@PseudoKnight where are you getting your information? Max himself said that in terms of rendering, NS2 has no 2-3 frame delay in dx9 mode: (Quote)
at the gam…Sorry, I don't quite understand that wording. Could you rephrase that?
In a usual DX9 game, there's a buffer of 3fps (according to max). Which means a game running at 60fps is equivalent to a game running at 57fps. This is a delay of 17.…@Ghosthree3 where are you getting this information from? I'm interested but I can't just take your word for it.

My computer main hardware is in the youtube video page but: i5 2500 @3.3Ghz, 7970, 8GB(2x4)…oh gosh, amd on linux. Good luck with that!Hey man, I posted another thread as I want to discuss this issue in a different way to your thread and I'd also rather not hijack it. But here's a copy of the link to the video I promised you.
