Its probably this mentality that is getting so many people frustrated. In my extensive NS experience, marine accuracy increases rapidly the closer you get to them. It isn't melee range where you have the advantage, its on the appro… -

Its far easier to belittle the attempts of others in order to make ourselves feel better! I think we should just stick to that instead! -

At release, NS2 sold inordinately well. Like, seriously. For its price and its indie status, it sold unimaginable numbers of copies. UWE were perfectly within their rights to say "good game guys, lets all go buy yachts and fuck off… -

Well, since you immediately went to battlefields "shiny bits" rather than trying to defend its performance, I can only deduce that performance isn't really your issue, so much as it is a case of wanting shinies. You are a triple A … -

Fair enough. I find the idea of someone getting annoyed about not knowing things in a game which they put a minimal amount of time into to be quite amusing, but I acknowledge that the thought processes are not necessarily that logi… -
The idea of constant change affecting casual players most requires citation. Intuitively it should be the people upon whom the old way is least engrained that are least affected by change.
In most cases, this is the case. You need only l… -

I never called anyone a moron. I said the course of action involving buying an indie game and expecting a triple A experience is moronic. You can decide yourself whether you followed this course of action or not.

Yes. I reduce my settings and resolution until I get smooth frame rates. Doing any less while still complaining about performance issues would surely be moronic?

Yeeee... I'm getting 60 FPS playing on a 2 year old laptop that isn't alienware. I really hope they don't spend much more time trying to get the game running on comodore 64s.
On another note, how much was the Onos badge… -

And with 10 dollars you could get a meal at a restaurant instead of a song and some pixels. I think you've kind of missed the point of this whole exercise.

Oh look, the marine I just bit vaulted 5 feet backwards and is now looking right at me with his big shiny metal pipe. I BEST RUN STRAIGHT AT HIM AGAIN BECAUSE WHAT ELSE CAN I DO.
Maybe we need a tutorial outlining the art of the disengag… -

8v8 versus in L4D is a joke. The special infected become as threatening as common infected. Survivors simply have too high a force multiplier. I can't speak for Primal Carnage, I've never played it. AvP is not competitive in any wa… -

L4D (for the most part), AvP, Primal Carnage, I might have missed an obvious one or two. To be honest, I can't think of a single asymetric game that doesn't use melee vs range as its biggest differentiating factor.
-

It really is. The fact of the matter is that you simply cannot expect to take 12v12 seriously.
NS2, as with most games which draw the line of assymetry down melee vs range, pits superior mobility against superior force … -
If you expect one of the single most asymmetrical competitive games ever made to be balanced for both 6v6 and 12v12, you're gonna have a bad time.
Playing 12v12 NS2 is like playing 64 man metro in BF3. Fun as fuck, but retarded as all he… -

Why not? +-2 minute delay on any bigger life forms in exchange for some static defences that get killed in basically one clip, placed in a location that marines may or may not want to take? Hell, as a marine I would make that deal.… -
Server performance affects everyone? How would this matter in a system where you are judged based on your performance against others?
-
In my opinion, unless you have near robotic levels of accuracy and timing, the single railgun is infinitely better than the dual.
I think that its understandable that both railguns cannot be charged and fired simultaneously, but adding t… -

Even though this is another complaint, I think this all looks really good, I'm just only bringing up things that stand out as potential issues to me.

I think the implementation just needs more scaffolding. If you are good enough to perfectly time it as you say, or to be able to modulate between both with perfect timing, then you should definitely receive optimal performance. How… -
Anybody else find dual rail gun exo to be 100% useless? The fire rate increase must be something like 30%, while you lose all ability to defend yourself in close quarters, and you become slower.
In addition to that, now this is just my o… -

but? What was preventing it? The fact that Exos couldn't be beaconed OR phased kinda hinted to the fact that it wasn't intended for them to quickly get around the map.
