While not all of these may be possible, I wholeheartedly agree. Especially the commander having comm priority.

I always feel so violated when this happens. I don't like a server having THAT much control over my client.

I also remember the days when a game would receive one to two patches in its lifetime. As much as we like to remember how many games added features post launch, those were rare. It was normally a few bug fix patches then nothing un… -
I dislike how it's difficult to tell if you're cloaked or currently being scanned plus not able to see glass. But perhaps it's an intentional drawback.

Anyone know why today's deals started at 24 hours and not the 48 we've seen so far?

Despite how irritating a green game is, I welcome all the new folks that aren't pricks and can't wait for them to see what a real game is like when it all stabilizes. Congrats to UWE. I hope the sales keep them funded for a long time.

I've elected to take a break from NS2 for a few days because of this. I love teaching, but someone who is responsive and asking questions is unfortunately rare. I've run into more new annoying dicks than new good folks, and I'd rat… -
You may not even need a stat buff. The ability for the commander to designate one or two team leaders (I'd give the player the ability to accept or deny the request) would be wonderful. It could show something like a mini waypoint overhead, and we a…

When you reinstalled NS2, were you still subscribed to any client side mods? Due to the way Steam workshop works, when you reinstall, all mods you had subscribed to before uninstalling are automatically re downloaded. Perhaps if you unsubscribe from…

Easiest way to implement without blocking the map would have player's names shown on the top/bottom/left/right (Whichever side their closest to) of the map and a small line drawn from the name to their icon.

Really the only thing I don't enjoy is losing, mostly because it's usually by a landslide in pubs. But, I don't really know how to rectify that.

Probably, although I contend that in a game where 50% or more of the team has mics, it doesn't really matter how small the player count is. Unless you mean map size, where I think you're wrong. But, on the scale of things that need to be done, it ad…

I have no understanding of how VOIP works, but I would really love a second voice channel for nearby teammates. Say, within 25 meters. That way I'm not cluttering up communications when I tell someone nearby to do or look out for something.
To be honest, I have trouble understanding the logic the game uses to decide where you spawn. I know that shift eggs go first, but when there is no shift, or when using a Marine IP, it seems to be totally random.
It's almost like it's an…I guess I'll just have to be a little more observant. I knew that they were different, but couldn't always tell at a glance. You'll probably have better luck in the Technical Support subforum Here.(Quote)
Also makes the observatory effect and cloaking effects much harder to see. Also, glass doesn't show up so you end up running into it if you don't know the map (Always hilarious as a lerk). That may be by design though. In a similar vein, it could be useful to have some sort of highlight on a parasited Marine that shows what kind of weapon he has. Maybe color coded per weapon, or just a different color distinguishing between the LMG and another weapon. What would this accomplish? Such a binary choice doesn't factor in anything other than emotion at the time of polling. Good and bad are very subjective, so you would never really know why they thought it was so. Well, I imagine you would because mos…I haven't been able to for as long as I can remember...Interesting issue. Until that's fixed, it's easily resolved by typing a few random characters into the password box.Aiming is only half the battle. Maintaining good sightlines, forcing the skulk to cross open ground towards you, and awareness of the geometry around you are often overlooked.Yeah, but if you and a buddy are circlejerking in a vent while a lone Marine is taking down a resource node right next to you, you may deserve a little anger. If you're teaching your friend without green tags on, at least communicate the fact that m…Especially since hitting space to go to the event only has a window of a few seconds and you may be assisting another team in another part of the map. Or, my favorite, "Medpa-STRUCTURE UNDER ATTACK" so hitting space takes you to a remote RT being sl…I'd be more in favor of having tracers only go X meters. Like the blur effect only extends about 2-3 (random number) meters from the "barrel" of the gun. Sort of a halfway compromise between the old and new systems.
Or, even the opposite…Quite possibly.I think one of the major things you're forgetting is the netcode/latency. Everyone's died a few times even when they've turned a corner because the server doesn't agree with the client's location. It's one of those things that's always going to be p…
