A small inflatable motorboat would be nice for very early game when you are scuba diving and being able to drive to a point, "anchor" (boat would have automatic station holding ability), and commence your dive. After a dive you return to the surface…

Very good points. I was thinking it could be a vehicle that comes before the Cyclops. Essentially being replaced by the Cyclops.
But you also make a good argument for it being redundant. And I can't argue with that.

The distance from the ping would be so helpful! So after thinking a little. I came up with this.
Stratum Unum. 0-45 meters: / 0-25 fathoms / 0-150 feet
Stratum Duo. 45-183 meters: / 25-100 fathoms / 150-600 feet<…Maybe the creature confronts you, has a weird mind melding "conversation" telling you to not come back. If you do, it kills you.
Also think the creature could be a crustacean of some sort.
This. This needs to happen.I will try to update the original post with the new images as soon as I get back to my work computer.I want to add legs to let it crawl up walls and stuff.
@Harry82
I love the idea of some huge armored crawling creature that lives in the middle deep. (250-1000 meters) maybe the tunnels aren't caves, rather they are burr…I am going to design a smaller minisub that will have the high mobility that you mentioned would be useful.
So this sub remains a bit of an enigma. It could be useful. But not a survival necessity.Fixed the control issues, by simply adding two more thrusters. Combined with the tilting top 'quad-rotors' the horizontal motors would give good Y-axis control. Allowing the vehicle to remain basically upright in the fashion of the Cyclops.
Having a protective friend to defend you would be nice too. Maybe there could be an A.I. bot left on the Aurora that is some sort of basic worker A.I. but with a few tweaks (or better still, because of the crash) it has a bit of self awareness. Not …@Minder
As someone who is mostly self taught with 3D, I want to encourage you to keep at it. You are doing an awesome job. And giving yourself difficult challenges li…(Quote)
Reapers are red and white..AND THEY ROAR... and STILL sneak up on me. the idea of a cloaked Reaper makes me cringe... I LOVE IT!I love our earthly oceans. It's amazing to think that only three people have ever been to the deepest part of the ocean.
Some of the weird stuff in our ocean is actually weirder than anything in Subnautica. I've always been fascinated with und…Yeah, I realize the world isn't that deep yet. And it may never be possible with the size and scope of the game. (there is a TON of stuff in this game already!) but if it was possible. IF they add more. It would be really cool to have super depths l…@helloimbob so you'd enjoy seeing new creatures and an altered world too?! Everything is so alien. Adding or changing those alien things would be awesome.
I LOVE …@Sigmalx I can understand them not allowing mods until after the full game release. Just like multiplayer as you mentioned.
So many things are still changing.
I'd love to see a mod that changes the grav-sphere into a regular basket trap.@harry82
I believe you are right about the four camps thing. I fit into scientists and Zen builders. Haha.
I guess I was just thinking how cool this would be w…Funny thing, my mom still has all my Legos. My nieces and nephews play with them when the family gets together.Yeah I remember those. Loved them. I traded a boom box CD player for a box a Legos when I was 12 because the set had the sharks and divers.Honestly, as I guy who enjoys blowing things up and shooting in games and in real life, I LOVE the fact that some monsters cannot be messed with. Reapers are terrifying. I LIKE having terrifying monsters. I also like the idea of passive weapons and …@Scrabquid you're right!! I had that one too!Oh, and the thrusters are supposed to tilt and pan. But I now think that may not be enough by itself. Thanks for the feedback! I will work on the control system and see if I can give it the needed mobility. I agree, like most things in life, the cargo van is more useful than the sports car. Hahaha!
I'm also working on an armored & tethered…Hmm... I suppose it could have directional thrusters. But its also possible that a more compact design could be made specifically for that. ((now I'm gonna make one of those.I'm thinking this should be just able to dock in the moonpool but too large for the Cyclops. Or maybe we need a large moonpool / drydock.@Warmind it's only real advantage is being twice as fast as the Seamoth.
On a use and size scale; it fits between the Seaglide and Seamoth.
That said, I …By the way...my scale is wrong. The vehicle should be 8 feet for the body thickness not 5 feet. so the player can walk inside. The length should be more like 22 feet long. I will correct the size and update the drawing.
