Well, first of all, I didn't realize I'd strayed into reaper territory.
I had the drill arm equipped because the whole point of the exercise was resource mining.
And I had the grappling arm equipped because I'd just had… -

Sorry, I must have misread... -

....Huh. I never even SAW any pop-up.
I'll have to try it again and look for it this time. And of course now I know the trick. -
I'm going to give the PRAWN suit credit for being in an "early prototype" stage. But dear mother of benthic blues, I hope it gets a lot better in future releases than it is now.

Remind me how rotate works again...? I was trying to rotate items while building my base and couldn't remember how to do it.
Of course, I was also trying to place an observatory on a "diagonal" wall of one of my multip… -

You've still got to explore and chart it all in the first place. I completely disagree that it breaks immersion in any way. If the captain of ANY existing marine vessel put to sea without charts he'd be drawn up on charges… -

...If you have it equipped. You can't get out to swap arms in the middle of a reaper attack. Which brings us back squarely to the "You need more arms than there are arm slots" problem. -
OK, well, now I'm underwhelmed by the PRAWN too.
- Can't turn the lights off to save its power, have to take the power cells out
- Difficult to move around, have to be constantly hitting the thrusters
- Sucks down power cells at …

Up until now I've been using my mon. It's a Japanese style heraldic crest. Mine is made up of four torii gates, and intended to signify inner peace and harmony. That seemed somehow ... fitting for Subnautica.

I did trawl all around the kelp forests for sandstone, and found enough silver to get a moon pool, a vehicle modification station, and my Cyclops built. Once I build a PRAWN drill arm, I should be set for mining.
I still think the diffe… -
Once I knew not to put it on a foundation, there was no more problem. It only took half a dozen power transmitters to connect all three thermal generators I've built to my base. I could have gotten by with fewer, but I wanted the power beam going …

Pardon me if I'm missing something, but ....
...how the heck do you turn the PRAWN's lights out? Short of just popping out the power cells? -

...Doh! Of course having now GOTTEN another one, I sheepishly remember that it's not four spaces, it's four by four, sixteen spaces.
...Which, nevertheless, is still only a third of what I can apparently … -
Actually I'm now noticing, in #38227, no less than FOUR distinct audio malfunctions:
- Double speed;
- Half speed;
- QUARTER speed;
- Faint and muffled.

Now if only I could find a second propulsion cannon fragment ....
Say, maybe if the Lifepod 17 wreck had half as many prawn suit pieces or a quarter as many drill arms, and one propulsion cannon piece. -
Mine's at it again. I just went off on an almost-fruitless search for silver (JEEZ!!! Silver has become rare in this update, compared to how much of it you need, yet I'm swimming in gold that I haven't even needed any of yet), and I …

Exactly my thoughts on the subject. "Signals" give an exact distance, including the beacon signals to other lifepods. Why can't our OWN lifepod's beacon show distance? Why don't our craftable beacons show distance? Why don't th… -
I'd like to be able to repair other lifepods I find and use them as shelters. Floating or not.

Right, there's propulsion cannon fragments before the obstacles. I forgot that.
Well, I have a Seamoth now, and several spare power cells. So I can go get the propulsion cannon fragments, come back and make a propulsion cannon, then re… -
So, if I'm reading this right and correctly combining with my own fruitless experience in my current game ... it's presently impossible to get inside the Aurora without a propulsion cannon?
Fixing the Aurora's radiation leaks is one of the ear… -

I'd tend to assume that when I come across a wrecked lifepod with a big hole blown in its side and full of seawater, all power has long since shorted out. Which may have been what blew the big hole in the side, since the ot… -

Not for nothing was the word "Treknobabble" coined.... -
To get back to the original subject of the thread ... there's basically two beacon-related changes I'd like to see:
- Range-to-target shown for all beacons (deployable and automatic) just as for signals;
- Automatic beacons generated b…

It wouldn't make sense for a fire extinguisher to use batteries. But I can see having a machine to recharge it. It could simply be a tap off a seabase's air-scrubber system, compressing and storing the scrubbed CO₂ instead of venting it.
-
Y'know ... it'd be cool if we could repair and refloat other lifepods we find.

Who knows? Maybe it really is a dark matter reactor. Dark matter is just a theoretical concept right now, and we don't even know for sure that it really exists, let alone know what it's properties are other than "It's ... uh ... stuff with …

Seconded. Both I and my daughter have run into this bug repeatedly.
