i think (IMHO) in game present some 'lock-on strobe" for predators which have a distance for lost 'lock-on' like a missile locking system. Try to 'shake-off' predator's 'lock' by maneuring in rocks/caves and they swim away to search another victims…

did you install SP1 for Windows? sometime its help to resolve some problems. in my case its work

maybe you can add some tech info? Some operation system's LOG (software section or videocard log) or a game crash report... anything, that we can try to help. But not only phrase "its not working"

About external vews and white 'face color'. We can create photo ramp - why we can't creat a simply MIRROR for looking on ourself? Or like in another game get function 'look on your character' with ability to rotate an image
