When I find a point of interest and I don't have a beacon on me, I use the compass to navigate back to the escape pod, paying attention to my heading. I then reverse the heading and skim the ocean floor until I find the area. In real life I would lo…

Op could probably be corrected for on the mobile base by making it terribly slow with lateral movement. Some dramatic effect should be kept by making it capable of quick buoyancy changes. Imagine that, on the journey back from an adventure, the clou…

Having a similar idea just shows we're on the same page. I realized just a couple nights ago that I had essentially reworded someone's idea just above my post, but I wasn't even thinking about it at the time. Brainstorming requires us to think along…

I've been toying with the idea of ROVs; similar to the "WSKRS (pronounced "whiskers"; Wireless Sea Knowledge Retrieval Satellites)" that formed an information network around the DSV 4600 in Seaquest (if anybody can remember that show). What if you c…

I've already seen bits of Maya in the rigging process for the bleeder...at least I think it's the bleeder. That little three pronged doo-dad that chirps about in the recesses of the shallows and caves.

Ah, so that's what it is. Thanks for the explanation. I shall now refer to this bug as the "Eye of Sauron".

I've noticed this as well, a frame spike that is directly related to freeing ~20MB of memory at a time. 'F1' will show more information, including the RAM in use (GC.GetTotalMemory). The memory behavior is almost like a counter in … -
That's just a collider box, should be an easy fix, but I have no idea how the change would affect in the rest of the game. I had to look it up though, most of the experience I have (beginner) is in UDK/UE4.

You can already do that. Bring up the inventory (so you can use your mouse cursor) and hit the 'F3' button. You'll find quite a few options to optimize the framerate, even a handy real-time graph to gauge the overall impact of different options.

I caught an update on christmas eve...strike that. There's another update now, 11317. Must be the additional entrances to the mushroom caves.

^That's a great idea! I'd love to see bio-luminescence as a possible DNA. Just imagine being able to explore the darkest caves with your own body as the flashlight!
I know this is going a bit in-depth, but what if you could not only supp… -
Modifications would be a cool feature to the present vehicles as well: lighting, speed, better maneuverability, greater pressure tolerance, etc. There could even have something like deer whistles (supposedly stop deer from charging your car) that d…

Just about every day. You haven't noticed the save game feature being integrated? It isn't functional yet, but there is a save option in the in-game menu. Before that was some modifications to the mushroom caves (additional entrances and more…

I'm enjoying every minute of it too. I've seen a lot of independent developers talk about frequent updates, but you guys are updating the game just about every day. I'm an animation/game design student, so all of this is cake. I get to see the profe…

Procedurally generated terrain is a great idea to a large world, but it will take a structured approach to encounters and landmark items to make it succeed. Even the simplest goal, wonderlust, starts out with the intention to find something worth th…

There are more reasons than that:
* Correcting your attitude in a cave
* Fitting through a particularly tight spot by changing your profile
* Using your point of view to observe what is below because you can't exactly turn yo… -

After much time in the Sea Moth, or as I like to call it, the Stevie Wonder of the Sea, I found that a horizon indicator gauge/HUD element would be great...especially in the caves. The sea moth has a range of listing to one side which is already dis…

The periodic table pretty much sums up what we know about elements of the universe. Without this knowledge no tool could be constructed. Of course there is the unobtanium the Cyclops requires...that's new.

It appears you and I were on the same page when thinking of storms. What do you think about a buoyancy-controlled base for the harsher storms? It could be a similar procedure to how submarines dive deeper in storms. I think an obse… -
Outpost bases might be necessary for prolonged exploration of the depths. It would be great to retain the tension of running out of oxygen, and without some sort of intermediate station of exchange that wouldn't be possible. The brain coral play a s…

Cooperative gameplay should have more complex puzzle/creature patterns that one person cannot solve alone.
Observing the behavior of other creatures could be a hint at the required actions. Two stalkers herding a school of Peepers into a…
