SSDs do not lend well to file recovery for that reason. Most immediately TRIM upon delete (in my experience). Which is unfortunate, because Subnautica doesn't run well on HDDs. There is a "mod" to back up your saved game file in Recovering an accidentally deleted save? Comment by 0x6A7232 January 2019

You might want to try the O2 tank mod as well. More air, but only fills at the fabricator. Makes sense, as there's no power source for a portable air compressor to top off your tanks when you surface. Although that one's sort of easy to handwave,…

I don't know about patrol routes, but I do know they get more aggressive as your infection progresses (they "handle" infected creatures by terminating them -- and the target on your back gets more noticeable to them the sicker you … -
You need these 4 files (you can swap the screenshot.jpg out with a blank file of the same name or another picture, but that file does have to exist)

Try running a chkdsk {drive}: /f (aka disk properties > Tools > check for errors) if you haven't saved in that state.

You guys are launching Subnautica from the Epic Games Launcher, right? Not using a shortcut to the .exe or double-clicking the .exe? Apparently the DRM doesn't like it if you don't launch from inside the Epic Games Launcher.

Oh. I bet that mod was made before UWE fixed the torpedo code (this used to be a Subnautica bug). Message the mod author and ask him to fix it.

The F8 screen gives you mouse control. You must have both F3 and F8 up at the same time, then click on the console enable box. I know it seems like you wouldn't be able to, but you can click straight through the F8 screen into the F3 screen to che…

Try teleporting back into the Cyclops:
Fire up your console by pressing F3, then F8 to give you a mouse. Now click through the F8 screen into the F3 screen behind it on the "Disable Console" checkbox, to enable the console (I believe y… -
Nuts. If you were on Steam I'd say try Experimental (or go back to Stable if you were on Experimental to begin with) but I don't know if / how that works on the Epic Games Launcher.

Right, you're going to want to warp back to your base / lifepod / Cyclops (whichever you boarded last).

Any off chance you use Citrix (say, Workstation?)

I know this is (probably) mainly due to the fact that a lot of people only reach the forums when they are at their wit's end looking for help with a problem, but the extremely rare input doesn't help the feeling much.
How it feels lookin… -
Looks like this is fixed in later versions of Unity, so this will resolve itself when UWE updates Subnautica to Unity 2018, see here.

You don't by any chance use Citrix Workstation on this machine do you? It apparently has some issues with Subnautica that have been reported.

For consoles you will need to wait for them to put the console back in which they (for whatever reason) took out. They used to exist on Xbox but at 1.0 release for consoles they pulled it out, which IMHO was a bad move. They did say they're puttin…

Right, there are TWO cache folders:
One is in \Build18 and you need it. It contains fresh, brand-new world files. If you haven't put \Build18 back the way it was, do so now, either by moving the folder(s) back or by re-verifying…
