MrMustard, basically, it comes down to dedication, and going on servers with the photographers toolkit running and making a fool out of yourself taking pictures while aliens are attacking you. That fade was trying to kill me, but i wanted to get the other marine in the picture, so i strafed around it until i got a chance for a good shot and then i just hit the screenshot button a bunch of times. some skill, but a lot of luck is required.

kouji san, i don't see why not, as long as there aren't excessive custom textures.

    Own-age.

This thread is pretty cool. I guess I'll take a stab at this photography.

    What's the screenshot button again? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
If your f5 isn't bound for taking screenshots, remember the commands:

    snapshot

Just bind that to a key.

    Guidelines, people.
  • AjurianAjurian Join Date: 2003-10-18 Member: 21753Members
I thought mine were in the guidelines. All standard models, no text, hud etc. Sure they werent that good, but its hard to get a good moment even when your taking a set of 6 screens every couple of seconds.

yeah why dont you post whats wrong with the pics before you go crying to a mod to take them down

is this one any good. a marine running away from an inevitable death, taking a quick glance over his shoulder, as the fade creeps up behind and prepares for the swipe

First of all, he didn't go "crying" to anyone. I approached him and said I would remove those he felt did not follow his guidelines.

Secondly, even I can see that a series of screenshots that I removed did not fit rule 3 or 4. If you do not know these guidelines, read the very first topic.

Some of the screens can go one way or the other, and it's up to make the deciding decision.

Deathage, i like your picture. Neat angle. Quality that isn't found much in the pics lately.

Fury, I like your picture too. I like how you cropped it. It emphasizes the scope of the picture.
  • Foxtrot_UniformFoxtrot_Uniform Join Date: 2003-06-12 Member: 17328Members
Ok well, i have 2 pics for you this weekend. The first, i decided to take because i thought it portrayed how blood is spilled for money. The fact that the blood is sprayed everywhere with a marine standing in the middle of it all makes the picture neat, i think.

This one is my pride and joy of this set. One reason, is because it's not cropped at all. That is the full photo, with only HUD icons edited out (very simple considering i was using the photographer's toolkit <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) and the picture is very exciting. It's huge though (sorry), but shrinking it takes away from what a cool picture it is. I took this one as i died, so i had to rotate the camera. I really like this one.

foxtrot i love that skulk pica ,, IT ROCKS> the best view ever it looks like the marines trying to leap over the skulk and the skulk is watching and preparing to pounce him. i love it !!!

that one i like too <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> tis brilliant, pics which are taken on certain angles seem to give the best visual effects

    Excellent shots! Dang!
  • Foxtrot_UniformFoxtrot_Uniform Join Date: 2003-06-12 Member: 17328Members
    Thanks for the replies.

deathage, good one again. The foot being so close to the screen emphasizes the movement in the picture, i think.

omg i just love this shot. an onos watches a lerk and fade run by as 3 marines open fire from down the corridor.

its a shame theres so much blood and bullet holes screwing up the picture <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
ill see if i can fix it up a bit later.

i just love how the fade is shielding his eyes as if in pain <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    and again the standards drop

guys quit posting your pics of "skulk biting a rine and rine dying" or the "rine shooting a skulk and skulk dying" theyre just so lame. get stuff that actually looks like youve spent more than 30 seconds spectating to get.

    oo i like this one.

looks as if the skulk attempted leaping at the marine, but died midleap and is doin a flip backwards from the force of the shots.

Amen, deathage. Thank you. I didn't want to say anything, but i totally agree.
