Skulks, lerks, gorges and fades
I sometimes find my self using 20 bullits for a skulk that i know i hit 100% (eg afk)
How can that be? where do you aim to counter the lag and lagged/wrong/bugged hitboxes??

If you are shooting at 3 hive, carpaced skulks, they can take a LOT of punishment.

umm if it's afk i doubt the hitbox is lagging =D anyway, even the lmg has a cone of fire, so some shots are bound to miss, the farther away you are the more.'

If they are moving really fast (celerity) it's usually best to aim at their back half, as when the hitbox bugs (shotty sparks threads) are in effect, you're much more likely to hit than aiming at the front half.

edit: if the skulk is not moving, the hitbox will be in the correct place.

Okay... with my LMG I just aim at the center of most models.

With the Shotgun, I am at the feet of the skulks and lerks. Works very well.

With the HMG I just aim at them and death happens very shortly after.

yeah i used to be able to kill skulks in 2.01 with about 15ish lmg shots now it takes me about 25 although weapon damage/health has been modified hasnt it?

anyway something else ive noticed is when a skulk leaps less shots register when using the shotgun (could apply to other guns but you notice it with shotty) or am i just imagining this?

Skulk armor was lowered by 10 armor points, but the skulk hitbox is not close to how big as it used to be before so IMO the skulk is stronger, esp. at a distance.

Hitscan shots are simulated clientside, so whenever you shoot at a wall and see the bullet holes, you didn't actually hit where the decals show(unless in the case of an extreme fluke or a very accurate weapon). Same goes for blood splatches. Even if you shoot like 100trillion HMG shots at that skulk, and you saw the blood splatches, you might not actually have hit it at all.

Unless it's an onos. They will regen almost as fast as you can damage them, and when they come back 3 minutes later they will devour you.

That's why the pistol is now much more effective first : you're going to land more shots on skulks and lerks , then when they come at medium range the lmg will be the most effective. If you mess up your weapon switching , the knife is the weapon with which you have the least chances to miss

Relatively though, killing two skulks wit each magazine, and one ext ra with pistol is all you will need.

Taking 3 with one magazine is hard, really hard. Its better to know how much you can spray(so you wont die with 15 bullets left)

f***ing steam has a bug that moves the hitboxes behind the skulks sometimes if they run. Perhaps that is why you don´t hit them... But there should be no problems if it doesnt move

Sometimes you may find that you hit enemies just fine, other times it seems harder, and in some instances hitting specific players just doesn't happen. This has something to do with the HL netcode. However, you'll find that aiming slightly behind difficult-to-hit enemies produces hits.

Unless you have uberaim or are using some kind of bot, here's a strat that never fails:

    Crouch.

It's simple, it's effective, and most importantly, it's deadly. Don't fire as soon as you see them, either. Let them come to you. I don't know, they probably think they've got an easy kill (n00b rine) and forget to zig-zag, but once they're halfway in my face.. blalalam.

    ASCII ART (dadadada-dun!)

                         @#$%! Skulk!

     O

Why fire down at an angle, only able to hit one spot on the moving skulk (is his hitbox infront of him? On him? Behind him? Who knows! Thank you, lag)? If you're on the same vertical plane with Mr. Skulk (or closer) then it doesn't matter, all you have to worry about is the horizontal, and your wonderful cone of fire helps out with that.

    CROUCH.

thats what i thogutht too, i have a movie that shows the bugged hitboxes steam makes. tho it's in cs. I'll eat a hat it works in ns too.

Shouldnt be so hard to test

    1) get an aimbot
    2) get a skulk pal to run around
    3) spray with your lmg and see how many shots it takes.

same with hmg, dunno about sg tho
