Typical GTA game :
Run around, kill stuff, run around, steal car, drive around, kill stuff, get killed. Repeat.
How can you find a game like this <b>fun</b>?
It is <b>the</b> most boring game i have ever played.
<sarcasm>
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Omg this game sucks. Its like, all you do is have this ship. This one friggin ship. And you're just shooting these bugs over and over and over. Hell the only difference it makes is the bugs get faster. Ohhh.. wow *yawn* The only time it gets exciting is when your ship is hijacked!<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

All games are repetative. You're a silly. heh.
Be honest love, you're exaggerating a tad.
Crap name, but hey, any GTA is good GTA.
Even pong was more fun.... (BTW the computer had some sort of h4x on that i swear...)
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> GTA is one of the least repeditive games that I have ever seen, in GTA you can run, beat people up, shoot AND drive all with fairly intresting and fleshed out results.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Thats my point, its all the same. Run/drive around and shoot stuff. Thats the whole point of the game.
Theres no (decent) story and the whole idea of the game is to drive around and kill as many people as possible. At least in other games theres the chance to feel like you've accomplished something rather than just go around killing whatever you see.
...
You didn't actually play the game did you?
GTA: Vice City has a top notch storyline. And not all missions are just mass murdering people with a car (that's just the in between mission fun)...

Couldn't be bothered, the entire game bored me in general.
And i was on about the series as a whole although i learnt my lesson and never brought GTA Vice City although i have played it for like... 10 mins.
<img src='http://forums.animesuki.com/images/smilies/bow.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' /> GTA
GTA3 was excellent, Vice City made numerous improvents [made it alot cleaner think 1.04 compared to 2.0, it looked alot more polished but it's basically the same]
and now San Andreas!
EFF YA
I can hardly wait to try and get %100 percent complete
[edit]
In GTA3 if you have the jumping car code on and you jump around in the second island I discovered written on the wall of a courtyard "YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO GET IN HERE"
I love easter eggs
[/edit]
Ditto.
/me points at someone who doesn't know GTA1
(edit: I'm referring to the name there ... but then again I guess it's true that the first GTA games weren't all that good)
If i wanted to go around searching for stuff in a game most of the time i'd play an adventure game of some sort.
If i wanted to listen to witty music stations i'd go listen to some shoutcast radios.
The entire point of the series is too run around killing stuff. After a minute it gets boring...

<b>You're</b> the bore!
This is going to be excellent, you can always count on a GTA game to make a few months happy-happy-joy-filled.
Oh, and Silverfish, you're wrong. If anything, GTA2 was the disappointment, although it was fun for a while. GTA1 was simply fantastic.
you do tons of interesting + funny missions... get bored of the missions? beat some ppl up. bored of that? hop on a motorcycle and do some drive-bys... bored of that? do some stunts. bored of that? do some ambulence/fire truck/taxi/police/etc missions... bored of that? try to find some hidden packages and easter eggs. bored of that? try to see how many stars you can get and jack a tank, and then run some police missions in it. bored of that? hop in an army helicopter and rain fiery death on the city, or do some police missions in THAT. STILL bored?! then you've taken too much Ritalin today...
Because remember kiddies, being rebellious is hip.
When HL2 comes out I'm so going to bash HL as a boring, repetitive game.
I just refuse to buy a PS2, but I will break down eventually and get one...
what were the three levels in gta1?
liberty city
vice city
san andreas
ha! now the world will come to an end!
Perhaps that's what's going on here...

I used to like GTA 1... for about a day
But then i stopped playing it, and when i tryed the series again i just found it boring... same thing over and over and over again (i'm on about the entire series not just one game btw)
I mean it's so open that I even invented a new mini game in Vice City.
If you manage to get bored of everything try "Car Surfing"
Hop on the roof of a car in traffic and shoot the hood, see how long you can keep the car moving and not fall off.
I'm not an avid GTA fanboy but with the amount of games that are utterly dissapointing calling GTA a bad game is just uncalled for.
Edit: Boo Yah to the guy below me <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Oh, you think YOU invented that? pfft! It's easier in the back of a pickup, and that lets you have mucho fun raining bullets and death on the populace <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

/me incites a war of the consoles...
but the PS2 has been the only worthwhile system on the market for years! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
but seriously, if you wait til the end of this year when this new GTA comes out, I bet a new (or used) PS2 will cost about 14 cents by then...
