I'ts actually very easy to change arms. I'd put a tutorial how to do this, but it requires VERY large amount of pictures.

    (sigh) i really can't be bothered to read all of that (im such a lazy git), i'll read it when i'm bothered about the arms, which atm they don't bother me that much.

    I'm getting a weird problem here, the hand moves. I renamed everything exactly, why does the hand change spots?

    <img src='http://www.dodstudios.net/uploads/uploads/problem1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

    Here's the original. (I changed the texture on the hands, but that shouldn't effect the hand position, I've done it before)

    You know why thats happend don't you ? you have put teh glock on lmg arms so they don't line up.
  • DarkkizDarkkiz Join Date: 2003-05-28 Member: 16814Members
    Umm.... If that's just a convert, and you haven't changed the arms, Then it seems you did all i told basically bacwards, so you used the original Ns qc file and animations.

    No I didn't, actually. The same thing happens when I try to convert a shotgun.

    I figured out what the problem is. I decomplied then recompiled a shotgun without changing anything, and this is what happens.

    <img src='http://www.dodstudios.net/uploads/uploads/samething.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

    It's the decompiler I'm using I think. I am using an older version of milk shape, I tried to download the current version but it tells me my trial is up, even though I just installed it.

    you're not renaming the animation smd files for the gun you want to convert, read the hole tut.

    Are you using milkshape's own complier?

    With the shotgun, I didn't change <i>anything</i>. All I did was decomplie, then recompile it to see what happened, and the hands moved.

    And, yes I have to use milkshape's complier because I can't use the current milkshape version.
  • DarkkizDarkkiz Join Date: 2003-05-28 Member: 16814Members
    Well, i think that's the problem. The default compiler can't compile cs models properly.
  • HKKHKK Join Date: 2003-05-19 Member: 16489Members
    I want to put a new texture on a gun in milkshape so i select the texture and put it on the gun then i save it as a ms3d file and complie the qc but when its in hlmv the texture isn't there ?!the texture in trying to place over the original is not the same size as the Original thats why ive used milkshape to change the texture.
  • DarkkizDarkkiz Join Date: 2003-05-28 Member: 16814Members
    I have no idea =) I haven't changed the textures before in milkshape.

    Milkshape can be 'hacked' so that there is no limit on the count.
