Tattoos!

curiosity....
I was just wondering that if you wanted to get a tattoo, what would it be of? If you already have a tattoo, then you can tell what it is if you want to. You can include location if you wish, but keep it clean please!! You don't have to be serious.

Me, I would never really get a tattoo, but If I ever did I would go crazy of course. I would:

<--- Get my avatar somewhere, possibly upper arm.
Get the Pip Boy in one form or another
Maybe some crosshairs
Maybe the grim reaper

Words: "Death" on one arm, "Life" on the other, in fancy font. It would have to be two opposites, like "Hope" and "Despair", or "Love" and "Hate"

    It'd get a Giant Triforce on my back.
  • Smoke_NovaSmoke_Nova Join Date: 2002-11-15 Member: 8697Members
    I'd get the words, in one of the Japanese character-symbols, "Flame" on one shoulder and "Frost" on the other.

    Barring that, I would get the words, again in Japanese, Aka-ryu (Red Dragon) on one shoulder and White Dragon on the other.

    Or be totally a cliche and get a Ying on one shoulder, Yang on the other, with Dragons coming out of the little O things.

    Notice a pattern in my tattoo's?

    I myself would love to get that jagermeister deer. I wub the jager to death. If I was given a choice of how I could die I'd get alchohol poisoning from jager.

    I know (we ALL know) Burr is a "self proclaimed alchoholic"...mayhaps your favorite liquor could inspire you?

    I think tatoos are icky and considering you'll be stuck with it for life you'd better like the picture you're choosing ^^;

    personal opinion aside, I'd probably go for a butterfly on my ankle or something... don't know why but it just feels 'right' =3

    Anyone who checked the artwork forum would have seen this a while ago, but this is my back piece so far.

    And this is a photo of my 'obligatory' tribal piece that was taken just after I had it finished so its a bit raw looking.

    no one remembers Ultima 7.5: The Serpent Isle, I'm sure... but it was really philosophical. I always kinda wanted to get a red chaos serpent entwined around my right arm, and a blue order serpent around my left... and a great earth serpent up my spine... it would be a good way to represent the balance of forces I strive for... I wish I wasn't so skinny tho -- arm tattoos tend to be to show off muscles, of which I have none

    Considering Getting the Sowulo Rune on my left shoulder, its very simple, but very meaningful for me. It's kinda an S shape - it's Celtic for Wholeness/Purity. - looks KINDA like this:

    (for those who are interested, Phelan is Celtic for Wolf, hense my title means "Pure Wolf")

    "I think that it's quite clear that you should not get a tattoo, and I can illustrate my point in this elegant, but simple bulleted list"

    #1 Tatoos are permanent.
    #2 You, are a **** damn idiot

    "And I'd like to prove this mathematically if I may. Take your current age, now subtract 10 years from it. Were you smart back then? Of course you weren't. You were a **** damned idiot. Fact of the matter is, you're just a big of an idiot today, it's just going to take you 10 years to realize it. Now, think if you would've drawn a picture on your body 10 years ago, would you be happy with it today? Chances are, you wouldn't be."

    I'm not going to get a tattoo, it's permanent but I just might play with other stuff that arent, like my hair(they are gone when im 60) or get a piercing. Or then not.

    Anyway, if I would get a tattoo, it would be my avatar guarding my a** in case they catch me and put me in jail. Which they will never do cuz I'm so smatr and beautiful.

    Necrotic, those are very cool tattoo's.

    Uranium: Heck no. Why bother with a (at times) ugly looking language that takes up a large space to say one thing when I can use a language that is quite beautiful when written caligraphic style and says the same thing in the space of one or two English letters.
  • uranium_235uranium_235 Join Date: 2002-11-20 Member: 9478Banned
    Beautiful? It's a bunch of stupid random lines. |\\|-_|_\\-/-|-||-\|\-/\/\\/\|/|\|||/\-/|-\|\-/

    Look! Beauty!

    My point was: Would you walk around with something as goofy as 'Fire' and 'Ice' or whatever you said written in a language everyone could read? I think not. Why? Because that's stupid. Walk around with your name tattooed to your forehead in Japanese and it's 'cool' because no one knows (or cares) what the hell it says. Walk around with your name in English (or yiddish, or russian, whatever language the local populace speaks) and you'd look like an idiot.

    So how is it any less stupid when translated to Japanese?

    Have you ever stopped to listen to yourself rant?

    |\\|-_|_\\-/-|-||-\|\-/\/\\/\|/|\|||/\-/|-\|\-/ is not Japanese.

    Not to mention this is the idea of tattooes, not the actual implementation of itself. Also, i don't plan on walking around with my shirt off showing my tattooes off.

    And please don't forget that ENGLISH is also a bunch of lines, seemingly randomly attached.

    /-\|\||) |\|()\/\/ +||\/|{- +() {-/-\+ |-||S+()|^\\/

    Hmm...let's see, English's principal base languages are...German and Latin. In Latin times, they pretty much used straight lines to make the letters, with only a few curves.

    [edit] Yes Zig, I do get snappy when people make an arguement, basically pulling it from their arse, saying that a language which is reallllllllly hard to learn (at least written) is stupid and i'm doing because then no one else would understand what is said...that pisses me off because they don't my story, they don't anything about what they are saying.

    A friend of mine used to walk around with a big tag on his backpack that had 'LOVE' written on it in Japanese, and 'PEACE' on the other (I say used to because it 'mysteriously' dissapeared).

    Think about that: Who used to drive around in microbusses wearing acidwashed jeans, bandannas, a tie-dye wearing 'LOVE' and 'PEACE' signs?

    Your parents probably did.

    And everyone loves to have a cheap laugh when you see an aging 50 year old Hippy nowadays. Writing it out in Japanese is just a cheap way of hiding something stupid and embarrasing you've had permenantly put onto your skin. If you're going to write 'Fire' and 'ice', get some balls and write it so we can all laugh at how goofy it is.

    i don't really support cliche'd tattoos either.

    that includes little things that don't mean anything at the small of your back, heart at your ankle, japanese characters, etc

    but PIPBOY..

    pipboy..

    i might seriously consider that.
