Fallout Bible

Yes, my favorite RPG would have to be Fallout 2. Why you ask? I think its because of the post nuclear apocalyptic setting and how it is handled so well. No faries, no orcs (well, the Super Mutants COULD be considered orc like), and most importnantly, it has guns and technology, a nice change of pace from the swords and magic. Browsing the internet on the wee hours of the morn looking for Sacrifice (the Interplay game) stuff, I came across this handy thing called the Fallout Bible. It seems to be a little old (well over a year), but I thought I would share it for anybody who hasn't seen it yet and is curious about some of the things in the fallout universe, as well as the lesser known secrets. It has a nice timeline too depicting most of the important events leading up to the end of Fallout 2.

Now, I have to reinstall the original Fallout and Fallout 2, and play them all over again.

    just thinking back to fallout one while I'm kinda drying off after a shower but... uh... did anyone manage to actually make it through the game without accidentally killing dogmeat with a stray flamer shot or something? ^^;

Yes actually (I haven't myself btw). Apparently the idea is to get him stuck behind a forcefield in the military base so he avoids all the super mutants and their nasty heavy weapons.

I have a confession to make..

I've never played any of the Fallouts. :(

Well, I did play a demo of FO:Tactics, but it was horrible. I heard many FO fans didn't like it anyway too, so I feel less bad about hating that one, but still...

    Infidel!

FO and FO2 would still qualify for some very good entertainment. Im hoping to see RPGs like that again one day.

But You're ok to not like FO:T. It stunk.

Yeah, losing dogmeat was a drag, best NPC ever, loyal to the end, and a heck of a fighter.

Yeah, tatics wasn't my cup of tea either. Here's hoping to a Fallout 3. Speculation and Rumors have been posted, but nothing confirming the game.

Of course, Im always a lame sniper in the game, but hey, I can still take down a super mutant in one shot to the eyes if Im lucky! W00t perception!!

*Edit* Here is the link to interplays site, where you can order the Dual CD Jewel case of both Fallout and Fallout 2 for $9.99, 2 great games for one bargin bin price!
And for those of you that have played it, here is a link to the many easter eggs and references that is in Fallout 2.

I played through fallout like 3 or 4 times... but never got more than a couple hours into fallout 2... is it really as good? should I give it more of a chance? fallout was so polished and funny and perfect, and I kept hitting annoying bugs in fallout 2, and I think it was too open-ended so I felt too pressured or something... like, I didn't know where to go...

I didn't care much for the beginning of Fallout 1. I start with a stupid spear, then I'm told ' now run along'. Fun. I actually took out some huge robot with a pistol by exploiting the movement system...

Yes, Fallout 2 did have some Bug problems that are adressed in the patch (such as the New Reno Boxing Tournament), but it is still a great game. The added features and length to the original Fallout, as well as more locations, does make it a little overwhelming, but thats what walkthroughs are for if you get really desparate. Plus, the story line, all the little refernces to movies, and the fact that everytime your play it you find something new gives it an almost infinate replay value. It is long though, but it is still worth giving another try and sticking through.

God, Fallout 2... I forgot how much I loved that game. I still remember how I beat the end boss, I shot him once, then activated the turrets around him. One shot him and criticalled for an ungodly ammount of HP and he keeled over. It was great.

If they cancel Fallout 3... people WILL get hurt.

Yes. In fallout 2 you learn that Richard Grey was originally from Vault City (the most evil place in fallout 2 ) and he was banished because he killed somebody. He eventually teamed up with Harold (talk to Harold for most of the story) and found the military base, where he was knocked into a Vat of FEV by a robot.

    Huh, that is weird....coincidence?

The Fallout universe is one DESERVING of a MMORPG. I think it would be perfect (of course, Im bias), just think, you could make weapons, go out and hunt radscorpians with friends, fight an army of super mutants, get "dipped" if you really wanted to, and there would be one car for every 500 people!

You need to get a patch that increase the chances of finding the Holy Hand Gernade of Antiouch to an actual level, it does 9999damage.

no, just raise your luck to 10, raise your outdoorsman skill as high as it will go, and then get the explorer, scout, and other triats that help you find those "special" things

never found the grenade, I met King Arthurs nights who were looking for it. I also found the space whale, the "edge of eternity", the Tin Woodsman, The Cafe of Broken Dreams (DOGMEAT!!), the bridge keeper, and the Unwashed Villagers fighting a Spammer.

The Holy Hand grenade patch is available at the "Files" link in the Fallout 2 section of Duck and Cover's right navigation bar. Official patches and other files available there too. (I personally used a character editor to up my carry weight to 999...I'm a pack rat when it comes to RPGs, and I figured it'd just make things more enjoyable to be able to play as normal instead of taking several trips just to carry my entire inventory from one city to another).
