Shadowrun
Lacking real life chummers, Hida Tsuzua and I would like to do some shadowrunning via IRC, and therefore are searching for two or three more interested in a little roleplaying.
Hida would be willing to GM if noone else volunteers. It'd be helpful if you knew Shadowrun already - teaching someone the rules via chat is a serious pain in the backside for both parties.
If you're interested, please simply post below.

Bah, I know nothing Shadowrun though.
We could also play Cthulhu (traditional, I don't have d20), if more people are familiar with that.
Oh yeah I have never actually roleplayed before but it's cool I bought a whole bunch of DnD stuff to see what it was all about its just I don't know anyone else who plays it.
I'd be willing to give you a quick and rough sweep through the SR rules, but you would have to do some manual internet research to get a hang on the background (there's a ton of material out there, so don't sweat it).
Of course, nothing's better than getting your fingers on the sourcebook, though.
And anybody interested in getting some basics, I'd be happy to teach as well, although I imagine that to be a very tricky and time consuming thing.
I'm usually in #nsradio, but you can just PM me, or, which would be the best thing... use ICQ.
Hida Tsuzua (GM), Moebius, Gazaar, Ashitaka, 1800, and me. I'll try to contact everyone as soon as possible to arrange the rest.
Omg i know what a gm is ( i played 3 mmorpgs ) what is the thing you are doing is what i want to know.
Anyway, we've got ... eight people now, oh which Hida, 1800, Ashitaka, Cyanide (?), dragonsblade and me know the rules, correct?
I guess it's best not to put more players in the campaign for sanity reasons - Hida will already be troubled enough to remember all seven (!) characters.
Organizing the whole thing, would times between 2 and 7 pm EST be OK for everyone?
Do those who don't know the rules know where to learn them? If not, contact me and I'll try.

I already started teaching the basics of Shadowrun to Ashitaka and I'd be happy to help anyone along who things they'd need a little help with the rules.
Sorry for dragging this topic back up from page two, but I think its still going on...
For the books - essentially you would have to take a look at "Shadowrun Third Edition", which contains all basic rules, but I doubt you'll want to spend the 35 bucks.
Could everyone going to play please send me a message so I can make sure we're not calculating with too many / too few people?
As for character constuction, I'll try to go with cannon rules (nothing more than avail. 8, etc) and you can use the priority system, the build system (found in SR Comp), or BECKS found at BECKS (tell me which one you used to I can double check). As for items, spells, and the like please use those only found in main rulebook. If you really want to have something else (i.e. bioware), PM or email me what you want, the book or webpage its in, and a good reason for giving it to you (the better this is, the more likely I'll grant it, and no Smartlink 2s I hate them).
That should be it, any questions and the like can go to Nem or myself.
Thank you.
Supports all usual generation methods, all skills, weapons, spells, and a buttload of cyberware.
On the official site Official Shadowrun Site there is lots of info and on this page
Timeline
is the complete background story how the world has changed till the year 2060. I'm sure you can find some useful info there if you're interested.
Sorry again for bringing this back up...
