nice first post! welcome to the boards!! ...now get the hell out. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
jp jp, on a more serious note, yes, the onos has a huge amount of hp, even the fade has a lot, being that its really rare to see one die, let alone against a single marine. i think ive only experienced one time when i went up against a fade, just me vs him and i actually killed it. LMG too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
with the new hitbox the bullets will actualy hit the thing, making it take MUCH more damage.
125 x 20 = damage 2500 damage, making the HMG have no problem killing it. 16 x 10 x 10 = 1600, alowing the shotgun to kill it, possibly with a little pistol help.
It wont be unkillable, it will just require more then 1 person, as it does now.

even wit te fixed hitboxes lv1 lmg only does 11 damage per shot <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Trust us guys, the Onos is going down WAAAAAY to quickly at its current settings. Onos should be much more significant in 2.1 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
anyone who plays NS right now, once you know that the current Onos hitbox is only gorden freeman size, you begin to realize that 90% of the shots your making on the onos are passing right through him. with a proper sized hitbox the thing would be REALLY easy to kill, even a LMG could nearly cap him. for their size they would be almost impossible to miss. Im all for new HP, exept that then turrest would not be able to even scratch the onos. Maby that's a good thing though...
1500 but armor? Shouldn't just be throwing numbers around like that. Gotta consider the amount of bullets it should take etc. etc.. Don't forget what regen would do to that number. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

In normal situations both of the guns we generally view as onos killers would have no trouble killing an onos rushing at you, even with 1500 heath. another aspect we havent touched on is that onos will now be REALLY easy to hit with a GL, no more running though grenades. Although at 1500 hp a launcher would have no chance of killing an onos. Just fixing the stupid hit box is going to majorly change the ballance of the game. I vote we give the new onos tonnes of armor, then we can tweek the armor piercing of each gun individually so that the balance feels similar to 2.0
In the current beta of 2.1, onos have 500 health, 400 armor, and actually get hit when you shoot them. They die in under a second(not exagerating) to a group of 4+ level 1 shot guns. 60 res. One shot each. 100 res evolution gone. One marine with an hmg standing a few seconds away from an onos generally has no trouble downing it before it gets close. Yes, the onos needs help badly. I wouldn't be opposed to giving it 1000+ health just to see what would happen.

Just a moment... *breath* Hahahahahahaha.. oh.. Too much.. thats a good one... haha.. Currrently the 2.1 onos hitboxes have roughly 5 times the surface area of the 2.0 onos. A 3x increase is BARELY enough to compensate. Currently an onos can be taken out in 2-3 vanilla lmg clips and a couple pistol shots. 1500 is wayyyyy too little.
My two cents. Buddy of mine is in the beta test, tells me that Onos do indeed drop like flies.
A suggestion would be, increase hp by 100-225 armor by 50-175. Increase armor absorbtion by 10%-33%. And finaly, make hits to the front ot the Onos's big head plate(the big boney thing) do 15%-50% less damage. Makeing it more usefull for a head on assault, but not in vulnerable from all sides.
Always thought that big head plate should be good for something. <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->

Hence the need to either jack up the Onos hp/armour
or
to change the damage of bullets being inflicted on the onos.
