You gonna see it? I know I am!
So, they're remaking one of the greatest Sci-Fi/Horror films and I dunno about you, but I'm pretty damn excited. I know I don't let on to it much, but I'm a big fan of the ALIEN Series. You guys think it's gonna be good? Gonna see it?

Is that anything like the 'special' addition where they added 15 minutes of cut footage including the sentry guns or is it way more cool than that? =o

watashi wa baka desu edit: sentry 'guys'. Sometimes my typos scare me because they make sense o.O

This time around they gave colonial marines wall-hacks and aimbots.

They changed al the aliens to NS aliens, and the marines now have a commander who won't give them anything they want, and when they die they respawn now

Alien has one new scene in particiular, not gonna spoil it, but that scene makes the movie truly complete. James Cameron saw taht scene back in the 80's actually, when he was in the making of A|iens. he did alot of desisions and thought up many new ideas after he watched it. its amazing how important it was that he saw it.

and btw a new Alien 1-4 DVD box is soon released http://mysite.freeserve.com/avpuk/home/dvd...ienlegacy2.html

I'm wondering if the new scene that was cut that's now in is the one on the Director's cut involving Ripley & cacoons?

Well I just saw the original Alien-movie today and was still quite impressed of it´s creepiness.

Hmmmm I wonder if the director´s cut edition will freak me even more out...

I saw Alien in the cinema.

    I TEH WINN0R!!!!!!11oneeleven

Actually I've seen all the films in the cinema. Definitely looking forward to the uncut version, because HOPEFULLY that'll make it canonical - which means good stuff for any future AvP game.

Those of us who are old school will recall that in AvP on the JAGUAR the alien relied on turning marines into eggs. Imagine an AvP game where you, as the alien, turn a rine into an egg, then when you die you emerge as the facehugger, implant a rine, get born, and then as an adult make ANOTHER rine into an egg.

    That'd be pretty sweet stuff.

I wonder if I'll be able to see it here in $@#$@#$ Missouri where nothing but mainstream crap ever makes it.

BTW, this is not Aliens with the marines and stuff.. this is the original horror flick. Just as good, if not better of course.

The interesting part is, a few minutes of original footage have actually been cut. When I first heard that I thought "OK, Ridley Scott is definitely on crack" but in the final analysis, it'll add an extra dimension to the experience.

    Don't miss it.

What's going to be different about the directors cut from the original?

Even if they did just show the original one, I'd go see it! I'd love to see aliens get blow to **** and marines killed on a big screen!

Director's Cut is mostly scenes the original didn't have. I've never seen Alien, so this'll be awesome. Then I'll have watched the whole series.

There's only one alien (singular, not plural), and no marines, only an regular crew.

I've seen alien and all it's deleted cutscenes on my 32" widescreen TV and 5.1 DTS cinema amp + speakers set up.
Does that count as 'seeing' it?

If I can manage to dig the at least $8.50 out of somewhere I'll go see it. I'm sure it'll be a high quality movie, I'd go just to know what's cut and stuff. First time I saw it was on Sci-Fi where it's butchered, and then I watched my cousin's DVD, but I wasn't paying attention.

Still a high quality movie. I'd also like to reiterate the point, this is Alien's Director's Cut....not Aliens' Director's Cut....which doesn't exist, there's the Aliens: Special Edition DVD with the Weyland/Yutani colony footage and the turret footage - which is all high quality.

    Alien rocks.

The only one I haven't seen is Alien 3. The first time I even saw Alien was when they played Alien/Alien 4 on Sci-Fi. But that was the same night they released NS and my attention was torn between the two. I'm sure watching it again will be a whole new experience.

Alien - An alien is loose in the spaceship Nostromo, slowly killing off the crew. Ripley escapes.

Aliens - Ripley and some space marines go back to the planet where they found the alien, and get slaughtered. Ripley escapes.

Alien 3 - Ripley's escape pod lands on a prison colony with some alien cargo onboard. Many prisoners get slaughtered. Ripley doesn't escape.

Alien: Resurrection - Evil scientist guys reconstruct Ripley and the alien queen inside her using DNA samples. Aliens break out of their cages and slaughter everybody. Ripley escapes.

There's a summary of all the movies for you confused people.
