1 You don't ignore me at all.

10 You totally ignore me ALL the time.

I never ignore people, unless they are totally ignorant to me and others. And as for your scale, scrap it. At least I do not consider people with a low post count as 'noobs'.

Well, we're somewhat friendly, so we won't ignore your posts right off of the bat.

Tips to get your posts more noticed:
    1) Use proper spelling, grammar and sentence structure. I cannot stress this enough. If you can't take the time to type properly (On an internet forum, no less) there are a lot of people who will simply ignore your post. It's worth the extra time you put in.

    2) Post constructively. Posts like "Haha!", "lol", "you suck", etc... will get you ignored more. Try your best to contribute to the conversation, and say interesting things.

    3) Be respectful. As far as you know, everyone here is a nice person and they all deserve respect. If you give respect to other forum users, you'll get respect as well. You don't have to love everyone here, you just have to be polite and friendly.

    4) Follow the rules. To the letter. Another major important thing, here. If you aren't following the rules, you'll face moderator wrath and you won't be as respected in the community...

    5) Contribute! Try to contribute anything you can. A funny link, a joke, a flash video, an image, an idea, a model, a sound... Just make sure they're APPROPRIATE, and are in the correct forums.

    That's pretty much it.

    Arr, CForrester be right!

But ye'd be findin' it prudent to not make posts like "Yarr, be ye noticin' me!" 'cause it might make people think ye be searchin' for attention. And booty. Yarr.

0 - I try to read every post if I can, but sometimes I skip if it's a diatribe.

Of course, this coming from someone who's been here a while yet always seems to be ignored shouldn't be that much of a comfort.

Smoke, the reason you get ignored is because you have no sig/avatar.

If you have a sig AND a avatar, a lot of people tend to pay attention to you more.

A sig goes a LONG LONG way.

Try getting a ::cough, cough, p1|2473|):: version of photoshop, and make yourself a sig or somethin.

-1. To You, You Are You, But To Use, You Are Him- remember, sitting there alone in front of your computer, it seems like we are ignoring you. Nobody mentions your posts in a discussion and your threads don't get many replies. But look at it from our perspective: you're one person. This forum has thousands. Do you read every single post? Do you quote every single person in every reply? We're not ignoring YOU, we're ignoring everything but the one person we are quoting, or the one post that we are reading.

I know, it's just that sometimes I post in a topic, and somebody will ignore it, and later someone else asks about it (Like I post a link, and somebody will ask, "Could anyone give me a link to ____?").
  • TychoCelchuuuTychoCelchuuu Anememone Join Date: 2002-03-23 Member: 345Members
Yeah, and you've asked for information that other people have posted before. It's nothing new.

Here's a tip, if you don't want to be ignored, post good threads, not "Don't ignore me" threads.

If you honestly care that much about what happens on these forums you might want to look into a hobby.

And were all talkin' like piarrrrates cause tomarrrow be intarrrrnational talk like a piarrrrate day.

To tell you the truth I could give a f**k if people ignore me, I'm much more annoyed at being bothered. That and the fact that I don't like attention hores kinda combines into me wondering why you even started this topic.

You know attention hores, people who constantly crave attention from everyone and are willing to do anything to get it? They are also sometimes called overly dramatic, drama queens/kings, etc. This people will purposely blow a situation out of properation to get attention and are also prone to dragging out situations or constantly trying to do something to create excitment generally irriating the crap out of normal people around them.

Oddly enough, Quaunaut is right. Instead of going, "Oh look, a guy with the Onos avatar.", you can say, "Oh, that's Joe with the cool sig!"

And having a nice, stick-out name helps. Like pjofsky , instead of cooldude92851.
