<div class="IPBDescription">How come theres so few</div> I have scoured the internet and the ratio of CS to NS maps is 159:1 (seriously)

Does anyone else have this problem(too little variety in map choice). <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It's really hard to make NS maps. You have to know all about Onos' getting stuck and weld points and hives and stuff. Plus it's a LOT more work than a CS level. Also you have to make it playable- and you have to have a deep understanding of the game to know how to do that.

    Meanwhile with CS I could make a sh*tty, playable map in 30 minutes or less if I wanted to.

    There is a very simple explanation for this ratio of CS to NS maps: More people make CS maps because its easier to do so. Most of those maps are just poorly-constructed battle arenas and knock-off of other maps. NS maps have to be carefully layed out as to be absolutely sure the map works for both sides, and it has to be visually appealing with a specific theme.

    If you want more variety with NS maps, try finding your way all the way around the map without using the minimap/pop-up map. Another good thing to do is play both sides, and see which places are good for building certain structures, and which places are good choke points to hold, etc.

    Whats with the Mutalisk pic? It doesn't really serve a purpose here. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    They're gonna nuke the mutalisk with a HUGE MISSILE TURRET.

    Wait, isn't that one of those goofy things from starship troopers? The mutalisk ripoffs?

    And there is also the whole thing that most of the official NS maps took anywhere from 6 months to a year to make

    Either way you could either work on an NS map,which requires a lot of dedication and hard work,or you could work on a CS map by making a box with spawnpoints and weapons and call it cs_boxworld
