an anti-rant?
this is a rant at the ppl who are telling me off for using the armoury.
STOP IT!
dont call me a humper every time i use the armoury?! its called loading up, its a good thing.
seems to be a fashion to call ppl certain terms when the games going downhill, armoury humper is a good example.

YES, there are times when minimal/ even no loading up is essential, pretty much only when your needed thru a phase. a good commm should inform you theres a new phase going up anyways so there isnt really a problem.

what gets me is ppl just randomly calling me a humper when theres nowehere particular to be.

that is all.

    ammo = good

unless you losing something vital and plan to use the meatbomb strategy (tossing marines into the frey)

indeed, humping is neigh epidimic, and people are getting paranoid.

I myself haven't been accused, of course, I usually only go back to base after we've gotten the phase up and I've run through to my last clip...

If the com hasn't given you any orders one way or another, then... just seesh... the people you play with need to lay off the caffiene a bit...

I get as much ammo as I feel the situation requires. Sometimes it's none at all, if there's an emergency, but other times I'll fully load up all my weapons if, for example, I'm going through a phase to defend an empty hive before it's secured with turrets.

Its not good when your comm tells you to phase and you stand around with two other people stacking up the ammo that you probably won't end up using before you die. When nothing is being asked of a player, by all means hump away, but there are too many times where marines are too busy loading instead of unloading.

More than like...100 ammo is almost always useless. If you survive/use up all your ammo, you can ask for some.

Armory humping is bad when done at critical moments in the game. When I command, I always build the TF, turrets, and other starting structures before I get the Armory up. If I get armory up, I'm prepared to have half of the team loading up to 250 ammo on their LMGs instead of building and going to waypoints. When in groups of eight - you don't need more than 100 LMG shots to fend off against skulks at the start of the game.

150 is the lucky number, imo - four ticks and you're pretty much set with all the ammo you need for a while.

Not to mention it always equates to death to have all of your marines at the start of a game nestled around one spot that isn't made a safe haven from skulks yet.

Armory humpers are people who get ammo no matter what the situation. I've literally seen Oni in a base and people are still getting ammo. Or other situations, when an outpost is under attack and if people don't phase in the next 10 seconds the round is over for marines, yet, they persist to fill up with 6 magazines of LMG and 4 Pistol mags.

Hell, first time I played Tanith I wished I knew about "armor humping". Commander waypoints me and me alone to go guard double node. So I'm sitting on the rail and four skulks later I'm out of ammo. So I ask for reinforcements. Just as they arrive the skulks whipe everyone out but me. I go around sorting all the guns for the best ammo count and pistol to. Repeat this situation three times before I finally "bite" the bullet. Pretty hillariosu moment if you ask me.

Must we bring this up again?

I tend to only pick up the used pistols, unless I have the time to find a semi-full lmg. Wish there were a way to unload them

Armory humping is bad, mmkay? I feel better running OUT of ammo than dying with more than 50 spare rounds. As per the situation is how you should really do it. This is no longer the lame 1.04 that seriously screws you over if you ever run out of ammo. It goes straight into the clip, so don't get more than necessary (200 or more spare rounds is overkill for lmg, usually 20 is more than enough for the pistol), you won't suffer for not getting enough ammo like you used to.

The Comm should get an option to lock out the armoury, and make the phase flash in bright colours

Or atleast make the phase work like a magnet, put it next to the armoury, when you need the humpers to go through you click on the phase twice and all the metal in the humpers pants(there's plenty of room) just.. ZOOM! And then they get eatan by an onos after useing 8 bullets

If armory humping is a problem, then just threaten to recycle it on five seconds.

1 out of 4 marines die without even reloading. So why bother even touching it?

Armoury humping annoys the hell of out me. There's people that stand and load up 250 spare ammo for the lmg and 30 for the pistol, rambo out of base and die. It's usually always the ones that load up tonnes of ammo that die without firing a shot.

What annoys me more is when i say GO THROUGH THE PHASE GATE NOW and then people **** about in the spawn loading up with amo and by the time they phase they are dead.

50/50 and 10/10 is a lot of ammo. Probably as much as you will need to kill as many skulks as you usually do before you die.

the reason why most of us are tired of reading these "same post every 2 hours" is that we have a search function.. that works.. and you *can* scroll through the new threads since your last visit.. they're brighter than the read threads...

I'm one of the few that actually manages to use all the 300 bullets

But if it's hectic, i.e. a huge attack right outside, there's no need for 250 extra bullets. Maybe I'll get 10 extra pistol bullets, but that's it.

Using all you ammo when you're completely loaded out is a good thing, especially when you kill lots of ****. You cost 0 and for the cost of 0 you get about 20 res for your team, and also slow down alien res flow by dropping a few alien RTs with your pointy stick. I often run out of ammo because I survive so long. Then, I set up a nice little phase to a vital point on the map and load up on ammo again!

    STOP HUMPING THE ARMORY NOOB!!

Players like you are so annoying like a hapless character from a comedy sketch "Phase gate pfft, I'm getting my gun loaded to go! watch out skulks! then a skulk chomps your 250 round **** before you get off 10 meanwhile the strategic turning point has been lost due to you and the two other guys like you.

I, when given the chance, will load up to full pistol and about 150 on lmg. I use the pistol ammo rather quickly some times, so I like to get at minium, one extra tick, but objectives ALWAYS come before ammo, ALWAYS, run to a place with your knife if you need to, or just click once for 25 bullets right into your clip, NO MORE.

It really depends on the situation whether armoury humping is good or not. If the com is getting ready to send you and your squad across the entire map, then it might be a good idea to get full, or close to full ammo. If the com is yelling "WE"RE LOSING OUR OUTPOST PG NOW!!!!" then jump into the PG with what you have. If you die defending that base, more ammo is not the solution, you just need to keep running through that gate. Whenever I have a special weapon, I'll load up on ammo unless it is incredibly important to get somewhere quickly.
