100mbit connection gigbackbone
80 gig hard drive
1 gig ram

    In linux you should try to run as few programs as possible as root. Running a program as root could allow someone to exploit a security hole in that program and gain full access to your computer.

    If you need help understanding how to setup and run your HLDS_L server as a non root user then let me know. I will write up instructions that should get you up and running securely.
