Dude whats up with that. no more parasiting doors open. Now im pretty sure there was good reason to take this out no just a "because we felt like" it or "balance issues" so what was it cause jeez man, what the hell else am i suppose to do as a skulk. That was the coolest thing EVER.

    The commander also can't 'activate' lots of stuff. :/ I was hoping the maps would have lots of interaction, because commander toys are cool!

    Though the laser cannon thinger on tanith was wierd.

    I was surprised it wasn't working for me anymore (where I tried it).

    well...makes sense.... how does shooting a small organism the size of a flea flip a switch the size of a baseball?

    Sophistication biological interaction with nanite pathways...

    I think the original ability of parasite to toggle switches was a bug, but I miss it too. PLEASE BRING IT BACK! It's just a very fun ability to have, and lends itself to a lot of sneaky mind-games, especially if you have silence.

    A parasite hits the switch just like anyone hits the switch with +use: magically and without making any sense. You could also knife some switches before, I don't know about now. Was it just a bug? Some weapons did it and some did not.

    'leap' would also cue switching. So if you 'leaped' at a switch, it'd go insane.

    I guess Anim beat me to the punchline, but I was <i>always</i> using para to open doors in tanith's Cargo area. It weirded the hell out of me when the doors weren't there when I first played tanith in 2.0 - I thought I had an issue with entities not being drawn <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yeah I liked flipping a switch from miles away. I used to do it the most in mess hall on nancy, close the door so only one marine got in the room. Those were fun days. I'm surprised it was a bug, never really thought twice about. Although the behavior you guys are describing here certainly makes it sound like a bug.

    or the bored gorge, although it's hard to be bored as a gorge because you're always watching out for that marine to come up on you now.

    What's so strange about that? I always stab switches to turn them on or off. I even type by stabbing the keyboard with a couple of huge diver's knives.

    Well, I'm off on my daily trip to buy a new keyboardf. Yu'd thinkkk they'dz mnake theeese thinggsdd aa biit rtouggheeer.///

    you could also weld switches open <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The commander can open doors now, or can most of the time, I remember in 1.04 trying my hardest and failing to close the door in marine start on hera.

    I only made one kill with that door to messhall, and it was priceless.

    2.01a is a BETA patch. Not a final, as many seem to assume. Just thought that I should chip that bit of sanity in, before things got carried away.

    I used one of the doors near port engine to teamkill a skulk once. I was sitting on the ceiling watching the door, when a teammate came along and stood in the opening. I wondered what would happen if the door closed on him, so parasited it and he got squished. Strange thing was, he respawned at port engine, and came back to inspect the mysterious murderous door.

    I couldn't resist it and squished him again. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
