<div class="IPBDescription">Wasn't 2.0 made to make games end quicke</div> I thought NS 2.0 was to end games quicker <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> instead I lasted in a game which took over 2 3/4 hour to end, no one won because the comm made an astounding SPAM of sentries, also this lead to a bug, which that many stuff happening any alien who get near the turret farm got overflowed form the server :/

    Servers i play on get at least 150 each team in a 1 hour game

    I'm guessing that screenie was taking after the round ended adn new game started? Anyway we're trying to figure something out.

    -Marines have lots of turrets spammed everywhere
    -Aliens have 1 gorge to bilebomb all of that(and 1 fade with acid)?

    Hmm.. I'm thinking no wonder you got into a stalemate! You didn't use your assets correctly.

    yes i'd like to see ppl teaming up with 3-4 gorges near end to bb the turrets even if they arent looking at them.

    Its because aliens build sensory =[ Not only does it make killing aliens very hard, but it makes killing marines near impossible because you dont have defense/movement(which you NEED as onos, fade, or lerk)

    there are some 8 hour games.
    Reason:

    - Damn stupid aliens, all being redemprtion onos. not one is a guarded bilebombing gorge artillery. Not even a primal screaming or umbraing lerk nearby. No organisation though.
    - Damn stupid HA marines with absolutely no teamwork unable to follow the commander. A commander that is too stupid to use scanner sweeps or build secondary obsevatories. All bases full of SC making traps and RT killing easy.

    But there are small improvements on publics since 3 days:

    Some not well guarded gorges learned to bilebomb (i still saw AWFULL bilebombing that hits the ground 5 meters infront, 20 times) but other players did not all learn to defend the artillery well. they just attacked, redemted and let the gorge die alone.

    Some comms learned to drop a second observatory at hive locations or doubleres but scanning is still really rare. Its just "incompfortable" for the comm, compared to loosing 4 HA HMG and a resnode NONSTOP instead of just scanning each area once.

    true. But a turret maximum for each TF would be great and would help

    I'll point out!!!

    If a player quits from the game, the kills he got for his team are removed, thel ow score ccount is due to everyone overflowing from the server because of the turret spam, which part of that dont you like to read <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    No one could get close enough to the marine start if they had a low spec PC ,you would just get booted from the server

    That too. Sensory first and having only sensory with your lifeform isn't very helpful when you want to go on the offensive.

    I would have to say, aliens win 99% of games, not because the marines are crap, but no matter how good the marines are, the alien team has to be pretty much the worst players to ever set foot on the internet to lose.

    To take care of turretfarms, and the marines completely, you need only 2 hives, atm this level of tech greatly outweighs the marine tech at this time in the game (about 5 mins to get second hive, if skulks arent being greedy) All it takes is two gorges umbrad by a lerk and the rest of the team, whatever they want to be really, the marine team doesnt stand a chance, game over 20 minutes max.


    But then ive not played NS 2.0 long enough to make a comment like this, have I :o

    It is the use of lerk and gorge, that wins the game for aliens VERY quickly.

    Was gorge most of the time and we surounded their base with chambers. Got overflowed (well there was no message I was just dropped to console) like 3 times. I really tryed to bilebomb their base and sometimes I could shoot like 10 bilebombs but then...

    Pings were stable but everytime we came close to the marine base the game "froze". Pretty much like lag but my ping was around 130-150 all the time. When this lag was over I was dead because marines killed me while I could not do anything. This happened always when I came close to their base no matter from which side I attacked.

    My system specs are not bad nor is my internet connection.
    Athlon XP 2400+, 512 MB RAM, Geforce 4 MX, DSL

    I'd say you're wrong

    EVERYBODY seems to want to go gorge.. there's no-one to fight!

    IMO, [besides gorge] Everyone wants to ONOS, then Lerk, then skulk, then fade

    fades are useless until 3 hives. I have NOT seen more than two fades ever on a team. But I have seen guys EVOLVE to fade, then die fast because all he has is melee weapons..

    and metabolize? Eh?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> that's not a weapon.. neither is blink. fade only has 2 weapons, then, and the best (acid rocket) is with 3 hives!!! metabolize = quick fix so fades have 4 "weapon" slots <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Have u been fade with carapace? it is still the same killing machine it was in 1.04, unfortunately, people only spammed acid with it, MANY people however played in the spirit of the fade, a close combat monster, and those who did, seem to love the new fade.

    Metabolise is handy as you can have carapace and (although limited) regen on the same creature, saves you going back to the hive, or DCs for a heal.

    My only quarrel with the new fade is, for some bizzare reason, when i blink i get stuck, almost anywhere, sometimes i get rooted to the ground, and seeing as there is no /stuck mods yet, ho hum..

    Ahem. Fades need nothing more than their claws, when they got two such fantastic abilities as metabolize and blink. Metabolize makes you independendt of DCs and gorges for healing, and blink makes you a mega-mobile ninja-fade. With any two hives (and chambers) out of 3, the Fade is great. Scent of fear, adrenaline and carapace are my first picks, but I can do well with only two of them.

    If I have res to spare, I go fade against LA-marines. I hunt them one at the time, take out one, then blink out. I am a mobile rt-defense, and I'll take out unprotected marine rts when idle. By the time the marines manage kill me, they have HA. But that's ok, now my job as a fade is done, and because I have so much res after killing LAs, I can evolve to whatever is needed.

    Of course, clever LA marines never move alone. Good thing the marines aren't clever! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
