Devour

I never can seem to make Devour work the way I like. I sometime end up clicking like mad but I just wont devour the marine standing in front of me, resulting in a painful death if he has a shotgun. Is there some kind of minrange for devour since it seems like when I'm too close to a marine I won't eat him.

    Place the marine in the center of your screen (often easier when crouched). I think (might be wrong) that the devour "attack" has to hit a hitbox, and seems to have a bit of range to make it easier. However, that means if they're filling half your screen, but not anywhere in the very center, you'll probably not get them.

    If your in a rush (ie using celerity and trying to goble up HA/HMG before his shottie buddies blaze you) Try just looking at there groin region. I find that If i center my screen on there groin and can quickly eat them with out having to slow down. It works MOST of the time but is a little less relaible the actualy crouching

    You have to be really close to the marine or stay in contact with him for a period of time, I think. I don't seem to be able to eat a marine on a ladder , though.

    i just aim devour as i would gore, it works 80% of the time a marine isnt stomped, 99% when hes stomped
