Players: I strongly suggest that you do not patronize servers that make up silly and absurd rules e.g.
1. no offense mining
2. no JP when the the 2nd hive isn't up yet (You have to ask the alien team if they have the 2nd hive up lol)
3. when the 2nd hive is up, and after some time the JPers killed the 2nd hive, they are expected to not to use their JP
There are lots more where these came from, some I must have forgotten, and some I am just too lazy to explain.
But you have the idea.
In case some of you are wondering, YES, these are "real" *rules* in "real" NS servers.
Server owners/admins: Please realize that 2.0 is much more balanced than 1.0x
Please stop the insanity.

Yes, they own the server. They can do whatever they want.
My plea is *mostly* addressed to the NS players to NOT play in these servers, so that the server owners will realize that they are indeed insane, and they should play NS the way NS was meant to be played.
lets not test the balance in the new game!
They can make up all the stupid rules they want since they own the server.
They are the ones paying for the bills.
I just ask the NS players to stop playing in these servers.
If they don't have any players, they will either be:
A. Forced to be a normal server that plays NS like it was meant to be played
OR
B. Forced to shut down
Sometimes, when each team has like 1-3 players, they declare peace untill more players arrive.
So, The aliens get onosand paralyze the marines. The marine start shooting the onos and that onos muches the marine because "he did damage to the onos."

Of course they wont do that for NS 2. And btw id suspect most server admins know more about the game than you.
-No swaring over voice
-No Spaming Mines (they cause server crashes)
-No using bugs of exploits
-No abusing the /stuck to get out side of the map.
But some server do have some stupid rules.
they have every right to play the game that way and people have every right to play there if they want. If you don't like servers like that, go some where else, there has to be a few hundred servers on ASE, take your pick.
OR
Become a reg on a good server.
I am a reg on the nano servers and when I can join roob no time for muppets. (stupid 8 reserved spots that are never filled <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> )
With all due respect, I have made it clear that the server owners can do whatever they want since it is theirs.
I am just asking the NS players to play in "normal" servers with "normal" rules.
On a related note, keep an eye out in your server list for
[p4] (CD) Republic of Great Democracy
or something along those lines. Should be up within the next week.
If I don't like a certain server, I just move onto another server.
That Simple.
However, if you have read the entire thread, you would by now realize that this is NOT about me.
Now I know that sometimes mods people make are acceptable and necessary, but, really, when I say I want to play NS, I mean NS, not such and such metamod where the jetpack was turned into a jumppack (1.04) or where admins ban you for going ONO (in 2.0) and whatnot. I would very much like a stronger drive from the "NS Authorities" to root out servers making NS look bad by altering its intended gameplay. This also includes those horribly lame maps, as some of you have surely seen.
