<div class="IPBDescription">WOOT WOOT WOOT</div> i read flaya said he may do that. I've suggested taht a thousand times. I'm so happy. My eyes got sooo wide when i read that. What do you think?

O ya then i thought this. It makes perfect sense HA would be air take and immune but um, what about after armor is damaged a bit. wouldn't gas leak in?

I think you need to see an eye doctor. And I agree, it is a nice feature.

I would like this too. I find it to be very amusing that right now the weak part of the HA marine is the marine inside. Health almost always is gone before armor.

Its not a huge tactical advantage because lone HA marines are easily taken down by means other than spore clouds, and a group of HA marines is pretty much invulnerable if they know what they are doing.

It does make sense but I always thought HA's are counter to Spore themselves...without any special attributes. Well, what makes you happy makes me happy...

it's not gas but some corrosive spore thing that can sense the flesh inside the HA

The spores don't attack a commander who's sitting in the chair.

Link, please? I've not read anything about that, nor can the search function find any reference to it, filtered down to Flayra's posts only. Sounds more along the lines of a bit of social engineering, at the moment.

There's definitely something wrong here, and I need to clarify my thoughts to fix it. I was in the airlock during the HA gassing-massacre of 060303, and there was definitely something wrong there.
One problem is that marines don't have a way to counter spores currently, so I was thinking of making HAs immune to them. This makes perfect sense to me, and fits in to the tech tree properly (the HAs have their face protected by the armor too).<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

nice idea, I always wondered why HA were such huge victims to the dangerous level 3 hive lerks. But anyway it's not my decision, since I can't test it or say it's a big problem in 1.1.

Actually, the problem isn't really HA's being suspicable to gas - it's that Stomp is
very powerful, and lerk gas takes an extreme advantage of it.

Would be better to make stomp more balanced rather than making lerks useless against HA.

Instead of making HA immune (should the idea be implemented) to spores full stop, make it eat away the armor first and THEN the health. That should be balancing enough, but it should only apply to HA marines, not LA...

I like the idea that was in the other post (the one linked by Emsee). Heavy armor would reduce the spore damage by some percent, and this percentage would go up with armor upgrades, but never actually reach 100%. For example, it could start at 30% reduction in damage, then go to 50%, 70%, and finally 90% (assuming there are still 3 armor upgrades).

I know this is only some old posting guide lines (guide lines that are not followed to boot), but doesn't this mean that some of this stuff is more in the unlikely or maybe catagory? I personally love the idea, but I also don't want there to be a double standard.

Yes, they are old guidelines and when Spores were Lerks 3rd Hive ability, marines weren't supposed to be able to counter them. Now Spores are slot2 weapon. Also making HA's counter Spores is not adding Gas masks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

No there is no double standard. Those are guidelines for SUGGESTIONS. Flayra does not suggest, he informs you of a decision he may or may not make.

that's... totally different <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> I suppose it's because spores only attack SOLDIERS and leave the commander alone. The commander is er... different D:

I guess the reason why it wasn't done in 1.04 is that spores are the lerks 3rd hive weapon. And it would be frustating to get a useless weapon <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

As it's now the spores are 2nd hive so no argueing on this topic.

    Grr dread was quicker...
