It's a stupid strategy that would just plain never work because you dont know enough about the game to formulate a strategy or it calls on massive amounts of teamwork or some such force which is impossible to cultivate. Seriously, strategies in here are either really stupid or so obvious and simple that if no one has figured it out yet they should give up and format their hard drive. Oh and before you post here with the intent of making a scathing remark: save it, I'm right on with this one. People should have to take an English test before they get posting privileges, that should clean the forum up nicely.

How many times have I heard of jp/HMG rush on the forums about now?
You're absolutly right. People should start changing their tactic, because for the moment there are 3-5 strategies being used.

ok listnen up, i have the best strategy for aliens <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.
ok it goes like this: 1 player goes gorge, the rest bites and shoots and evolves and does stuff to save the gorge and make resources and hives and then eat the ips and commchairs!

now imagine that in caps with even more typos.

This is the perfect example of post we don't want on this forum, because this is the basic strategy.
    We want something more planned.

it was a joke (granted: a bad one)

I know, but it clarifies the whole bunch a bit.

With planned I mean what tactic you use on what map, if you got a specific goal(like: Kill the gorge or build & defend RT's with marines and upgrade weapons and finally give all marines heavy equipment).

This serves pretty much the same purpose as a post asking people to search before they post. It's a nice idea, but accomplishes nothing. People who post crap without thinking (and people who post without searching) <i>aren't going to read posts like these</i>.

Oh...my...God...I'm still not sure whether this post was made to p1ss me of, even though it was posted before mine. This guy should be banned from the forums, because for one, his strategy is RETARDED! Also he made the post even though he knew it was a horrible idea that could never work...use some common sense, don't post crap like this. He did everything wrong, it was a SIMPLE strategy, he didn't know anything about the game before he made it, and everyone knows ravaging a marine base with Onos is a pretty effective way to win. That was the dumbest post in the world, don't talk about sh1t if you dont know sh1t. I want to punch this guy in the throat. (Quote was taken from a different topic)

    1: Whoa. Calm down.
2: Don't dodge the swear filter. It's there for a reason.
3: If you're replying to a post, reply to it in the same topic!
4: You just don't get it, do you?

    1. After listening to stupid people for so long I can't help getting "excited" about posts like that.
    2. Yeah you're probably right, but I felt the stupidity of that post warranted some swearing...it's just so awful.
    3. Actually no, I didn't want my name anywhere on that topic, I might catch its stupid. Besides, that post is relevant to this THIS topic so I believe I was right in replying to it, you got the full message right? So who cares.
    4. Don't get what? There are alot of things I don't get...like why people feel the need to make inane posts like that. Really...if winning as alien was that easy, wouldn't he think we'd have gotten it by now? But thats besides the point, which is that strategy would never work in a million years and he didn't even bother to research it. I don't know about anyone else, and I dont claim to be a self-made expert from the time I started, but I was considerate enough to read the manual, read the forums, experiment on a LAN by myself etc. before I asked any kind of question, let alone a retarded one. It would have been so easy for him to just look on the manual, it's not that out-of-date...it's not just the stupidity of his post, it's incredibly rude to spam random posts on the forums so all of the intelligent people have to sift through them to find any with value. And yeah, my posts in this topic ARE rude, but you know what? If he (and people like him) won't take the time to consider the intelligence of their posts, I won't take the time to be polite to them.

Oh boo hoo hoo. Who died and made you god of the forums? I did read the manual, and I played online for about a week. I played when NS debuted... for about 2 days, and I dont seem to remember any rule regarding how many hives you need to evolve into an Onos. In the few games where ive seen Onuses (Onusii?) attack a base, ive seen them rip it to shreds, even when the marines have HMGs and Heavy Armor. So the earlier you can do that, the better.

    And, according to you:

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->stop walking into the forum all excited thinking you have the best strategy since sliced bread. Chances are you probably don't.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Well gee... if everyone followed that rule, this forum would be completely empty. True, some strategies are worse than others. But how is anyone going to get theirs reviewed if they cant post it for other NS players to check out? I at least had the decency to read all the posts, to see if anything remotely similiar to this existed. I didnt see it, so I posted it.

You need to get that stick out of your ****. If you dont like what I said, simply ignore it or say "Thats a stupid strategy, and heres why..." Ill admit im a newbie to this game, but if this board is so elitist like you, that you cant even say something remotely newbish without being ridiculed... then I definently dont want to be here.

    So there!

Not a newbie-friendly tactic at all, but what tactics worth their salt is? It is very map-specific, original and 'new'. I know it is original and new since the reaction from most of the established clans have been "omg n00b team" + /quit when it has been implemented. It is however, the best Alien tactic for nancy I have ever seen, it's not my fault that some clanners are rigid. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Ok weggy, I'll try to be a little nicer...first of all, since you realize that the Onos is very powerful...and you say "In the few games where ive seen Onuses (Onusii?) attack a base, ive seen them rip it to shreds, even when the marines have HMGs and Heavy Armor. So the earlier you can do that, the better." Well if you follow your own advice and get it as early as possible...didn't you even bother trying it when you got the resources? First of all it would have told you that you can't turn Onos yet, second only the gorge would have enough resources to theoretically be Onos. Also, anyone examining the strategy of going Onos as early as possible with their common sense would realize that the NS team could not be so hopelessly incompetent as to design the game so it is that easy for aliens to win. Next, maybe these forums SHOULD be empty then..if everyone was determined to follow that rule, the people that would continue to post would KNOW when they've got something good..other people like you (with the bad strategies) do just as you did, going "Oh gee I doubt this will even work, I'm too damn lazy and inconsiderate to test it myself, so I guess I'll just waste your time by posting." As for why nothing came up when you searched for a similar topic, thats because practically everyone knew from at least their first couple days that you can't just go Onos and win right off the bat. And last, I don't consider myself an 'elitist', I'm not in a clan, I don't spend all day honing my skills so that I can walk into a room and shoot ten aliens or bite ten marines simultaneously. Plus your post wasn't something 'slightly newbish', in all seriousness thats probably the worst post I've ever seen...and I CAN'T ignore it, posts made by people with varying degrees of intelligence flood this forum all the time, all of the intelligent people try to be kind and correct to these people, and well, they're only encouraging it. Also, if you don't want to perform any kind of investigation into your strategy on your own, don't use common sense, and you're so ignorant that you can stumble through the game (while going gorge and hogging resources for personal gain, which annoys EVERYONE...I'm really very serious, nobody likes a gorge who doesn't do anything or just collects res for Fade (or Onos in your case)) without learning ANYTHING at all, let alone something as simplistic as the fact that you can't go Onos and win the game by yourself at the start...then I for one, DON'T WANT YOU HERE.

Brilliant. Let this post stand as an example to all would-be strategy-posting forum-browsers of how strategies should be presented. First, keeping mess hall has been in the back of all intelligent players' minds...I can't tell you how many times I've seen people violate all of your fundamental rules for keeping mess hall. Now we finally have someone set this strategy down in writing, along with some unique points, which is just great. Most importantly though, is the fact that his post encompasses every aspect of the said strategy, if I followed this post to the letter, I would know what I should be doing at ALL times. Although I have to say, simply securing Mess Hall is usually enough to make the marine team crumble...this isn't even a criticism of marines either, I've played marine a few times on nancy and whenever the aliens got a good hold on Mess Hall we kind of gave up. I mean really, if the aliens take Mess Hall you are limited to no-name hive and the only other outlet is right next to Mess Hall...while it is possible to mount a counter-attack to win Mess Hall back it usually takes too long, by the time you're ready they have fades and are probably already harassing the third hive. Great strategy though Stoneburg, some of the best games I've had on nancy were the ones when we lost Mess Hall and Subspace, but we had the rest of the map pretty reinforced. And I do appreciate you taking the time to convince me that not everyone on the forum is illiterate (by example) :P
